seeing those pictures made me realize how much i miss this game.
Rare i hope your listening to demands from gamers to revive this game.

Also, I'd like to mention that Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2 hold up to today's standards. From the music to graphics. It's really impressive.

what a letdown. i saw "killer instinct" and i got excited, then i read the rest of the title. i thought i was gonna be able to play another game kickin ass with sabrewulf

Man I was hoping for a revival when I saw this. KI was the only fighting game that could pull me from StreetFighter due to the depth of the fighting mechanics. My friends, cousins, and myself all spent countless hours trying to perfect air starters, ground starters, special starters (like Jago's wind kick combo starter), combo breakers, extenders, and etc. I really did love that game and can still kick ass with Jago, Fulgore, Sabrewulf, Glacius, Tusk, Maya, Kim Wu, and sometimes Orchid.

This is the only title i envy from xbox owners... ive played this game so much...

I love KI but sorry, nothing beats MK's character design. Scorpion, Sub-zero and others may have been pallete swaps for sometime but they had really deep characters and rich stories behind them. Plus, they had uber cool fatalities and special moves.

Of course, this is a predictable comment from me being the crazy MK fanatic ("MK"_Red).

I belive that Nintendo has more to do with that property then Rare does. So if Rare were to make another fighting game it would be called somthing else.

I have my n64 next to my 360 & PS3. I was on it last night, another classic on the n64 is WWF NO MERCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that the character design was top notch. However, the game itself was broken to hell. Orchid's infinite combo was the best example.

Orchid is perky in the first KI... :P

first of they all looked like they had downsyndrome and the animation was stiff.the outfits are of b movie grade,plus stan lee would reject these characters. tekken to me has these best character design, with other games such as marvel vs capcom any artist would agree.better graphics does not mean better charactr design they were all corny wanna be's of mk.

Killer instinct is a fantastic fighting game. The fact that RARE was able to push the SNES so far with 2d graphics is a testament to the brilliance of the company. While it was groundbreaking the techniques they used, it is even more impressive that they actually made a great fighting game, comparable to some of the greats

The character designs are straight up cheesy and the combat's boring. I was busy playing Virtua Fighter when the KI turd released, but I'm all for a new 360 version as long as the cast isn't laughable, and the combat's up to par. Plus it might get Rare away from this kiddie crap kick M$ is forcing them into.

Killer Instinct was quite good, but KI2 (as the announcer called it) was pretty awful. The gameplay mechanic of one special move being able to defeat another was simply criminal.

The ability to perform a fatality when your opponent's health bar was low enough was quite novel, but all in all it was nowhere near as good as the first.
