Uncharted 3 should definettly be higher considering how much Sony reported.

dark-hollow5296d ago

If i get 1 cent for every time someone post this....

evilunklebud5296d ago

Nobody said it was.... It is still an important region, as is the data from it.

evilunklebud5296d ago

disagrees... SO, it is not important? OK.

@ SPARDA

Some here think that the 3.5 million (1.1 million in the US if you follow VG) numbers were lies. Even if it shipped that much the first day, it should have those copies sold by the end of November or atleast most.

Edit: @ Amazing

Just Dance 3 just 1 million...and the Wii 1.1 million?

MostJadedGamer5296d ago

First of all the 3.8 million is WORLDWIDE SHIPMENT numbers. Second of all NPD only tracks US sales. Uncharted 3 is NOT going to be high on the NOV Top 10 sales list.

SPARDA_4265296d ago

Yea i get disagrees for saying that Uncharted 3 should be higher people really need to learn how to count.Yea thats the thing if Sony reported 3.5 million sold/ shipped the retailers most likely sold most copies. When i went to get my copy of Uncharted 3 i got lucky cuz i got the last one. If it is just 700K then it really dosent make sense. id say about 2 million for the first sounds right.

MostJadedGamer5296d ago (Edited 5296d ago )

Uncharted 3 will probably finish about #8 on the Nov 10 top.

TheFirstClassic5296d ago

But Uncharted 3 sold more than that on the first day

SDF Repellent5296d ago (Edited 5296d ago )

People, Uncharted did not sold 3.8 millions copies on day one to customers. The 3.8 millions were shipped to distributors. The distributors are the ones shipping copies to retailers based on orders. That is how Sony always operate when they said sold.

Here is my prediction for November

1. MW3
2. Skyrim
3. Assassin's Creed Revelation
4. HALO Anniversary
5. Zelda Skyward Sword
6. Battlefield 3
7. Uncharted 3
8. Saint's Row 3
9. Just Dance 3
10. Gears of War 3

I wish there was a company that gave out monthly worldwide numbers, US-only is as useless as Japan-only or Europe-only, I want a complete picture not a fraction of one.

evilunklebud5296d ago

It isn't really useless, it is a pretty large sample of consumers. I agree, however, that it would be cool to see worldwide trends as well.

Focus5296d ago

Lol lots of people still seem to be confused about uncharted 3 numbers.
Allow me to clarify.
1. Those numbers were not US only numbers, they were worldwide, so obviously the US only numbers will be much less.
2. Those first day sales numbers were shipped to retail numbers and not polo through to customers. That means there aren't 3.8 million copies of UC3 in people's homes at the moment and no matter how optimistic you force yourself to be, most of those copies were not sold out so please stop deludins yourself.
Vgchartz may not be the authority in video game sales but they do pretty ok guesses/estimations and they had UC3 at 1.1 million first week.
BF 3 shipped 10 million copies first week and everybody got all excited but in the end they didn't even sell 5 million to consumers. Expect Uncharted 3 to be the same, esp since it released one week before PS3's most beloved franchise. . .CoD.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman29d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
