lets not forget the money that goes into keeping up the servers that hosts all this data, it costs more to get this then on dvd, because of that, then you have royalties cost of right to host the content advertising...ect

Isn't NFS an EA game and thus, this is EA's doing not MS'? Still, it's horribly wrong and really stupid but sadly, there are people who would pay just as the ones that payed for cheats of EA games or their tutorials.
EA makes bad games, updates last year games for new ones, makes terrible ports specially for PS3 and worst of all, asks money for things that have to be free.
EA must be stopped... no matter the cost.

this is getting ridiculous, PSN have it for free and XBOX live want money. I dunno how to justify paying XBOX live anymore.

its funny because if you walk up to the average adult who knows a thing or two about the way the works and ask them what they think of the microsoft company, they usually say there dirty and all about money but little kids dont see it. dont get me wrong, im sure sony isnt that innocent either but microsoft takes it to a whole new level, i mean come on, microsoft is run by bill gater(i know he doesnt run the game division but he's overall in charge) if he wanted to step in he could. but as long as bill gates knows his company can get money anyway possibe, he wont care.

As the service grows, we tend to see some odd things like this hit the market. Personally, I put this right up with the Madden tips from last year. I didn't want those either so it didn't affect me. If you feel this is a waste of money, by all means do not buy it. How the consumers react determines the viability or the contents justification for purchase.

It's not so much Microsoft wants you to pay for it, EA wants to see if you will buy it. I think they would have a much better chance of selling the Page 3 photoshoot myself, but I guess they have to start somewhere.

This is abolutely ridiculous and has already gotten way out of hand. They are charging for way too many things. This should be free just like gamer pics should be free and many other things. Paying for live should be enough and even that could be free. These cats are sick!

I agree with the guy above who said they want to see if they can get away with charging for it. The problem is that so many people are actually willing, even happy, to pay for XBL so they can play P2P online. Oh and Microsoft has ads all over it, but don't worry - you can have the ads even if you don't pay for Gold, you just can't, you know, play video games online.

Microsoft has been pretty successful with the "let's see how much we can get away with" strategy in the PC world for a long time so it follows that they'll do the same with Xbox and try to milk every dime they can out of consumers.

To the guy above who said EA is more greedy than Microsoft - I don't know. I think if those two had a greed-off they would just make the world asplode or something.

AS for that dont say they are wrong for doing it when you have no idea what it takes to produce, edit, master, and then host a HIGH DEF making of ENTIRE series of games.

OKay, you've got a $49.99 game and then you've got the "Collectors" version of the same game, but with a "making of" DVD attached, right? The collectors goes for about $10.00 more at $59.99, (I know NOWADAYS these editions come with much more swag, but it's just recently got that way) n' I've never heard any outcry over that. Now EA wishes to make a "History of the Need for Speed series in HD" available for $3.00 and it's such a sin.?

So, I have to wholeheartedly disagree with the overall....scandalous tone of the article, at least the former part of it. The later part of it however, I can agree with. The NFL doesn't charge me to watch real pro's go at it, but I've gotta pay to watch some folks play video games? Lmao, but...that's when, as someone's already stated, you talk with or without your wallet. If enough do so, they'll get the hint..

you dont have to pay if you dont want to BUT its free everywhere else in the world IN HD except on xbl. If you cant see a worrying trend with this or cant see what ms/ea are trying then you truly are blinded by your love for MS. Lets not forget that you actually pay for xbl anyway. I could just about understand if the silver members had to pay if you know what I mean. Vote with your wallets people. Give em the two finger salute.

I don't know about you but... I have only seen "the making off" videos on DVDs and stuff. On video games something like that is unexpected. Tell me a game where the making off is included for free? I know the premium packs have them and guess what? They are like an additional $10-40 bucks.

The other day I saw a 'making of' documentary for the Lord Of The Rings movies in a shop. You know what I did? I didn't buy it.

I didn't feel the need to complain about this online though, so what's the big deal with the same sort of thing on the Marketplace? If you don't want to buy it, don't.
