Of course it will. Developers will always support the one with an open OS and no fees to developer and even write your own OS for it. Nobody wants to work with apple stuff because to do that you have to enter the apple world, and then you're screwed because they own you then.

Yes. When a company releases a game, that is exactly what they say beforehand. They don't consider budget, processors, the all-one-design, the hard work that goes into making 3D droid games work on all devices, the nonstop updating process to support newer phone models, the advertising from iTunes, the Mac app store, etc.

Nope, none of that. They're just all like

"HYUK HYUK WE IZ FANBOIZ LETZ NAWT RELEESE ON iOS CUZ DEYRE DUM AND WIL OWN US LAWL"

You're looking at it wrong. The BIG apps will be on both because they will make more money that way, but the smaller ones that can only pick one will pick android. No developer fee, free SDK, many more devices than iOS. For somebody developing an app for one of them Android makes a lot more sense.

Actually, 3GenGames, right now picking iOS over Android is the smart move considering app sales on iOS are a lot more than on Android. Android has a wider market in regards to phones with their OS, but iOS has more than twice the market for connected users and has proven to have sales that dwarf those of the Android market.

In the long run, as Android continues to spread its OS to more and more portable devices, it has a good chance of taking over. But, it will be a slow process.

If Apple were to come out, drop their dev kit fees, cut their percentage of app sales, and offer up iOS on other devices... Android would have something to be worried.

yeah, like developers support consoles over pc...

low budget developers might choose android, but the bigger developers just go iOS

I wonder how many iOS phones there are compared to the MANY Android phones...

It's not surprising, iPhones don't really have anything special about them anymore. A friend of mine posted a status a few weeks back saying how excited she was to get hers and the only thing I could think was "Uh, dude what is it 2009?". Apple's become way too comfortable with their position and have stopped innovating, same thing that happened with Microsoft. Pretty much only leaves Android to pick up the slack. Kind of a shame, the only people that have told me they like their Android phones work at a phone shop, all my friends and family that have them constantly complain about what a headache they are...it's not really my place to judge though, I used to be an Apple fanboy and now I'm completely dedicated to wp7. Far superior platform imo. Would like to see Microsoft pull their shit together and start marketing it properly in the states.
