In this week’s Heart of Gaming episode, Leon Thomas explains why he absolutely prefers Singularity over BioShock. Really.

The fourth game in the ‘BioShock’ series has been in development for more than a decade
Bioshock is one of my favourites franchises. I love all 3 games and have played each several times. I even have a room in my house that is loosely decorated around the theme of Bioshock (with a Lighthouse, coral models and postcards styled as though they are from both Rapture and Columbus).
And yet I am going to find it extremely difficult to get even remotely excited about any future episode in the series after all the problems this has had in its development cycle.
Leave the franchise alone. Remaster them again if you have to. Then put whatever talent you have to use on something brand new.
It sucks this game is in development hell because I love BioShock and would love a 4th game. I hope it turns out great, but I guess we'll see.
It's been in development hell since 2014. This is nothing new. It saddens me because it's one of my favorite series. At this point, Judas may end up releasing first.
Bioshock 4 (if it ever comes out) will probably still look and play like a Bioshock game, but without Kevin, it might miss that spark that made the originals so special. Honestly, Judas might end up feeling more like the real spiritual successor.

Console Creatures writes, "The BioShock film at Netflix is still happening but with a reduced budget."
It's 10 years too late for a BioShock film. The world of Rapture would have been perfect for a film. It's actually a good candidate for proper utilization of 3D, for increased depth rather than bullshit popping out of the screen. It could really show off the underwater city that way. But BioShock as a brand is so irrelevant these days that a film just doesn't make sense. Especially considering it would need a big budget and top notch effects to really take advantage of the IP.
Netflix greenlights anything, so that shows me very little faith in the project. Enough to just crap something out as they're, more and more, known to do.
I'll laugh if it turns out to be better then the Borderlands movie
I picked it up on a Steam deal, and while it was a pretty solid game I couldn't finish it because of the abysmal FOV, made me sick after 10 mins of playing.
Umm I don't think it's better than BioShock but I really enjoyed it. Pity Activision didn't pimp it a lot.
This dude needs to get lid again and then put out to pasture...without reproducing. I like singularity very much. I actually really liked the MP but no one played it. That being said, I liked it because of its similarities to bioshock. Unfortunately, its major flaw is that it cannot recreate that initial feeling of entering rapture for the first time, or playing in rapture at all. The blend of storytelling, fps, cameras, little sisters, plasmids, and big daddies is masterful, and 2nd to none. It is my all time favorite game because no other title blends elements like irrational did. I actually loved bioshock 2 for the same reasons. It actually improved in every manner and despite the story was actually a better game than the 1st. But, it couldn't recreate either. It could though, give us another jaunt into the greatest environment ever created in a video game. For that reason, B2 is also much better than singularity and in my top 20 of all time.
So, we gave u what u wanted, ur hits as ur reasoning was rediculous. I know, opinions opinions, but i believe that if 99.99999 etc.% of ppl. experience and believe one way, it is basically fact.
So, now that raven is done with the mw2 expansion pack, they can get started on ur singularity 2. Ill b waiting for bikshock infinite. And don't even think about picking it up, if rapture and the alarm puzzles were too confusing for you, the rails in infinite will damn near make ur head explode...and this isn't another reference to ur escaping girlfriend.
The game was really good, the only problem is that the whole upgrade system was kinda broken and made you really OP. xD
If they fixed that... it would have been much better.
The single player was massively flawed and alarmingly derivative. You were overpowered to the extent that you had to hold back on powers for it to be a challenge. The moral choice was totally tacked on the end.. But it was still a lot of fun.
I love Singularity but its nowhere near as competent as Bioshock. I wish more people played Singularity multiplayer though as it's pretty unique.
