I knew this was going to happen once it was announced being made by EA instead of Valve so I picked it up on my 360 instead. It's a shame because Gabe hates the PS3 as it is and will be like see it sucks! haha Valve could've easily made it work fine if they took the effort instead of the simple port from the pc to 360.

We'll know soon enough if this game is worthy of our hard earned $$.
EA has been getting better with their PS3 ports but:

CoD4, UT3, Haze,...the competition is formidable.

No support from Valve is also bad, and the only reason why HL is still played by many PC users to this day.

For me, No support = No buy.

IMHO, Infinity Ward could be the next Valve...

Why should Valve Waist time and Money on the PS3, when PS3 Fans dont Buy games. Call Of Duty 4 is an Awsome Game and it didnt Sale 400,000 copies on the PS3. Ratchet sold Poorly and it is a 1ST Party Game so did Heavenly Sword, Lair and every other game on the PS3. You PS3 Fans need to stop crying and just support the PS3.

I preordered UT3, I'm getting a resistance mappack and I have call of duty 4. Why in the hell would I even consider getting a crappy EA port which they recieved from a company who thinks my console is a waste of everybody's time? Serious?

this hands-on does not sound bad, IMHO.
seems like the good far outweighs the bad, just like Mass Effect, there are issues with FR drops, glitches, etc. but the game is good enough for most people to overlook the issues.
Orange box is an incredible value. If i hadn't already purchased it for 360, i would no doubt buy it for ps3.

360 guys, don't come into this thread bashing the ps3. Be lucky "our" version came out extremely well. As i've already said, M.E. also has issues but most of you guys are willing to overlook because of the many positives, there's no reason why the same logic cannot be applied to Orange Box PS3.

totally getting this game for the PS3. I've played Gears of War and Mass Effect so I'm used to games with frame rate issues.

UT3 got my interest over this one. Specially conciderin all the tech issues i've beeen hearing about with Orange box. So UT3 got my nod don't trust that EA is gonna deliver a good experience.

This is the last game I will ever buy from EA because my computer isn't powerful enough and i want to find out what happens at the end of Episode 2.

Still, those technical issues are enough to deter a large number of consumers. The thing is that the 360 suffered frame rate issues as well, though the PS3s issues are worse. This is pretty much unacceptable work from Valve and EA. Even more unacceptable to the EA team. They had an extra two months to work on the game and they come out with an inferior product. The 360 and PS3 are powerful enough to handle The Orange Box at 60fps.

Also as a side note, notice how different the tones are between the IGN and 1up previews. While both acknowledge frame rate issues, 1up plays the issues to the point where the game becomes unplayable while IGN doesn't. Kind of interesting and shows a lot about each site.

the technical issues may not be bad, buuuut uncharted and R&C are going to be the PS3 sellers this holiday season. I would be suprised if SONY makes a decent add campaign when OB actualy drops becuase of the other availible games.

No one who owns a PS3 should buy this terrible port. Once again EA proves that they don't know how to program. Sure they can program for the simple360, but when it comes to the ps3, they are still confused? Maybe they should call up Infinity Ward, or Epic. I wonder what magic secrets they have that EA is just ignoring.

I'm very glad that I pre-ordered UT3. I enjoyed the HL series on the PC, so it really sucks for people that may not have had a good enough pc to run it.

After the comments from Valves owner, and EA's track history with the PS3. I am more than a little fed up with these guys. I've been buying a ton of EA titles for a while now, its a shame that they cant produce the same quality Infinity Ward, Naughty Dog, Incognito, Insomnia, Epic, 2k, and others can deliver.

The excuse of them not being able to break the cell is 100% laughable right now. I wonder how long before Sony realizes this, and seriously buckles down on EA. EA can only gain from the growing number of PS3 users. Dips in framerate or any issues on the PS3 version is unacceptable. Especially in the atmosphere of Call Of Duty 4, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, and Unreal 3.

Look up what Valves creator said about the PS3. These are the people who will be quality controlling our version. If they aren't going to give it their all, why give an effort at all?

I dont have this game or PS3 but I have HL2 and E1 on PC. my pc is way weaker than a ps3(except more RAM) and runs the game good, so id expect the problems arnt that bad. Both are good games and if you never played those(and like FPS) Id reccomend geting this. Id probaly buy orange box if they had put cs source on it.

Yeah, lets blame EA when in fact it's Sony who opened a can of worms on the INDUSTRY with the PlayStation 3 tech. This is a business industry so tell me why EA should work harder for le$$? ...developers (EA) would quit porting to the PS3.It seems harder to port a game to PS3 then to make the game on the PS3. CoD:4 is a great example.

it's not that developers just can't do ports,it takes time and thats why many release dates for ps3 games are being moved, so that all this would be none existent.

I'm considering buying Orange Box and was trying to determine which version (PS3 vs 360) I'd want. The 360 may have a more solid framerate and lack the weird motion blurs, but I won't need to keep renewing a Live subscription in order to keep playing Team Fortress 2. To me that's one huge positive for the PS3 version.

I'll say it again, PS3 owners should not pass on this game. TF 2 is fun, Portal is addictive and HL2 is one of the best FPS i've played. Almost rivals bioshock.
Do yourselves a favor and pick up this game, you won't regret it.
