IGN - There's apparently been an interesting PC game making the rounds on the Internet through the past few years called Super Mario War – it's essentially a version of Super Smash Bros. that removes all of the fighting techniques and forces you to kill your opponents simply by jumping on their heads. Swarms and swarms of respawning Marios, each of them trying to jump and stomp on each other. Sounds pretty fun, right? It's the kind of fan game that you'd think could inspire a legitimate release.

Fans of side scrolling action are truly spoiled for choice this week with a triplet of 2D platform titles available to download from Nintendo eShop and Nintendo DSi Shop. The Game Boy version of the NES classic Bionic Commando arrives on Nintendo eShop to take you on a daring action-packed mission. As Rad Spencer, use your high-tech grapple hook and assault rifle to infiltrate the enemy’s stronghold in order to rescue Super Joe. You can be the difference between war and peace. Are you ready for the challenge?
