We all roll our eyes in exasperated anguish every time a shoddy licensed film tie-in gets rushed out to deadline or a major corporation sallies forth with a tatty Facebook game/iOS app; cursing the newfangled craze with bitter venom. But back in the heady days when the Amiga reined supreme (sorry Atari fans, but it did), this was the rule rather than the exception. The Amiga's open-source nature allowed any company with a couple of quid to rub together to commission a team of bedroom coders on an ill-conceived crusade of broken gameplay, half-assed ideas and massive flagrant adverts.
This week, we're going to take a look at one ridiculous cash-in that carries the dubious distinction of actually being pretty good, so much so that it hit a number of platforms including the PC. Or, if I was feeling vindicti...

Retro gaming fans rejoice! Secret Mode and Sumo Digital Academy are proud to announce Zool Redimensioned coming to Steam on August 18th. Originally released by Gremlin Graphics in 1992 on the Amiga to critical acclaim, iconic gaming mascot Zool returns in Zool Redimensioned.

Aero the Acrobat was one of my favorite games as a kid.
I want to give a shout out to Cool Spot.
Rocket Knight one of the best Genesis mascot games. Bonk games were pretty decent as well. Pulseman from Gamefreak is another forgotten game.
Seing the Zool thumbnail gave me nostalgia vibes. Shame the game was slippery as hell!

Thumbstar Games has announced a deal with Urbanscan Ltd. that will see a number of classic Gremlin titles given a new lease of life. Chief among the franchises set to receive a re-release are the cult classics Bounder and ZOOL, launching alongside some brand new intellectual properties (IPs) imminently on iOS and Android, smartphone and tablet devices.
Ah I always wanted to play Zool and Tristar but never managed to find them as a kid :( Maybe I can see what I missed out on.
Oh and Full Throttle- I remember my neighbour playing it and I was in awe of it at the time but he only let me watch him play once :(
