Now really isn't a good time to release a beta any ways. BF3 and MW3 (along with tons of other great holiday games) are going to be taking up everyones time.

Not mine lol. And the beta is PC-only anyway, I doubt many CS players would push CS aside just to play those games.

BigShotSmoov0075235d ago

Yeah, people would care about this in the summer months when there was nothing else to play. But with battlefield, gears 3, resistance 3, batman, ultimate MvC, uncharted 3, dark souls, skyrim and of course MW3 all either out in the last few months are on their way out, no one really cares too much about a delayed beta right now.

you guys are acting like the beta is a tool to generate hype and act as an advanced/early demo

this is VALVE, not bungie or infinity ward; their betas are designed to actually test out the flaws or work out the bugs or stress test, and the fact that MW3 and BF3 and other holiday games are out shouldnt really effect the ability to beta test a game

they probably delayed it because it wasnt ready to be tested adequately, not because they fear competition from other games

I think 10000 pr0s/serious gamers are better than millions of screaming kids complaining that theyre getting shot through walls ;)

BigShotSmoov0075235d ago

I never said there was a fear of competition, just said not that much people will care too much about the beta being delayed right now because of the fact that there are so many games either out or coming out in the next few weeks.
