If the game is as successful as EA are hoping it should almost certainly suffer from server problems. Hell if I was EA i'd deliberately create server problems and be quick to issue an apology claiming it's due to overwhelming amount of people trying to play at once.

Bioware said that they are releasing a very limited amount on day 1, so that those that did pre-order and want to play first day can do so uninterrupted.

This might be the first game i have to preorder. Ive never heard of a company releasing a limited amount on purpose.

What a load of crap. This game will have soul crushing lag on day one and the servers will probably go down at least once. Oh and you can count on Origin to fuck up authentication and various pre-order codes too.

It's the release date of the most expensive MMO ever made. What can go wrong?

Hope for the best, plan for the worst -- EA's motto for its customers.

BioWare have a plan for this, the actual release date will be smooth because all pre orders will already have been staggered into the game during early access.

Based on when you pre ordered the game you get access before release, they are doing this to stagger the log ons and not floo dthe servers on day one to try and have a smooth launch as possible.

I will be shocked if there are little to no problems though, every MMO launch I have played has been pretty poor or at least had 2 hour long queues to get on the server of your choice.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Still Receiving Updates 11 Years Into Release

I loved this game and have played since launch but don't let this article fool you, this game is a step above life support. While they are still technically updating the game, the updates are few and far between and there is a significant lack of quality control, so many little bugs that have been present for years.

TheColbertinator1143d ago

The updates felt flimsy to me also. Stopped playing in 2021.

This game got a huge update last year didn't it with more content?

PapaBop1144d ago

They promoted it as an expansion yet offered like 3-4 hours of content. The game is amazing and easily one of the best Star Wars games ever made but content drops are so few and far between.
