Megabits of Gaming writes: "Ever since Sonic and Grand Theft Auto went 3D, games have been reinventing themselves to howls of discontent from faithful fans. But while some games make missteps simply from their desire to keep up with the times, others cast off tried and tested mechanics simply to ape whatever is in fashion at the moment. This time next year we’ll be playing a version of Syndicate that replaces isometric brainwashing with first person shooting. Until then, here are some well established gaming properties that cast off their familiar duds in favour of some sharp new threads."

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.
Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.
More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.
Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.
All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
I must have been the only person in the universe that actually enjoyed Renegade.
i thought that new castlevania was awesome so were fallout 3 and red faction guerilla and syndicate looks AMAZING. Game play and story needs to evolve to allow games to progress also its a nice thought that my rig would probably get like 10,000 fps from those old games maxed out lol
Poor choices imo. Fallout 3, Castlevania LOS and Red Faction Guerilla were all great games, and Syndicate looks great too.
I really, sincerely hope that we are not adding X-Com to this list when it eventually releases. However some games really change things and come out pretty good, like Gauntlet Legends. I lost insane amounts of money to Gauntlet in the arcades and was really nervous about them making it 3D, but it was pretty fun after all.
Fallout3 was awesome, I other than the bugs, I don't see why people would criticize such an awesome game.
