I will offer my "words of wisdom" hah! But really i found that if you just pace yourself and hang back a tad,not camp,but watch the sightlines,especially in the urban levels and you can pick them off easily as they come sprinting out of alleys and such.If you have a hard time on regular mode i also suggest hardcore as you can drop enemies instantly. I usually always play hardcore mode. But At the moment I want to learn the maps.
I no for a fact I will do better on HC mode. Cause now it takes way to many bullets to take enemies down. In BC2 I could easily take out 2-3 enemies when I get the drop on them.
Now....I can take out one and the other 2 lay me out cause I have to use more bullets to take out one. Just my experience :) Still love the game...besides the useless jets (consoles)
