Good article for those still looking to put together their PC's for BF3. They did leave out the popular 560ti's for SLI(my current set up) and with this set up(along with a i5-2500k) I can run high at 60+fps.

If I switch to Ultra I turn motion blur off and AA down I can run from 40-60fps.

In SP you can run everything on Ultra with two 560ti, but for MP you need to adjust slightly although it doesn't dumb down the graphics much if at all.

I can run high with a single 560 ti, with around 50-60 fps in both single and mp. And its better to get one 570 than 2 560 if you are planing to play bd 3. Since it uses more than 1 gb graphic memory on ultra, and the 560 cards are almost always cursed with just 1gb of video memory.

Can any PC gamer help me out here. I got a Amd 6570 and im wondering if it can run Battlefield 3 better than a ps3 or at all. I have plenty of ram 6gb and and i5 processor so that shouldnt be a problem. I looked and one i found it maybe to weak and then i google and someone said it would be fine so idk.

NCAzrael5321d ago

The 6570 is a value card, and isn't packed with a lot of VRAM, which is going to hurt your performance. You will probably be able to run it on medium settings, which will still look better than the PS3 or 360, but not by much. My advice would be to save up some money and get a video card with more video memory. A 2GB card is almost a must now days if you want to max everything out. For around $250 you can get a 6950 with 2GB of video RAM which will let you run the game on high settings at over 60fps (I'm running 2 in crossfire on Ultra at 80-100fps).

Get a 580 and a Core i5 and your set for this game. I'm running with 80 frames constantly, no problems whatsoever. The i7 is not really that important unless your doing more than gaming. Not worth 100 extra dollars just for gaming.

limewax5321d ago

Yeah I have an i7 Sandybridge and its not getting me any more performance than you really (580 too)

The game is incredibly heavy on the card though and strangely hardly tasks the processor at all, it is one of the least demanding modern games I have on my pc actually on the processor

Somebody5321d ago

I was on the fence at the store choosing between the i7 and i5. Money (or the lack of it) talks so I got the i5. One of the best decision ever.

@limewax

Maybe it's due to the 64bit code. I read somewhere that 64bit Windows actually uses less cpu power. The more cpu cores a game uses, the less processing power is assigned per core. Something like that.

I'm always baffled whenever I visited some of the flight simulator forums asking for help. I noticed most (if not all) of the posters there use Windows Vista/7 64bit. I never knew why until I actually got one myself. My DCS A-10C sim played smoothly while it stuttered in the old 32 bit XP. When I looked at the task manager, all the cores of my i5 are used at 50% (in XP it's at 85-100%) while giving such a good performance playing the game.

64 bit doesn't get enough attention like DX11 do. What's the matter with Microsoft not promoting heavily that it's own 64 bit Windows can play games at such wonderful efficiency?

despair5321d ago (Edited 5321d ago )

yea only problem with my GTX 285 OC is that it gets that damn stuttering unless I roll back the drivers :(, still I run High pretty well at 1920x1080 and if I lower a couple settings to medium I get close to 60 fps flawlessly and it still looks amazing.

RedDeadLB5321d ago (Edited 5321d ago )

Can anyone test, if they can, how well does an e8400 (or any other good dual-core CPU) do in multiplayer? I have finished the SP campaign and it ran remarkably well on ultra (minus MSAA). I was wondering how well would it run on big maps before I decide to purchase BF3..

C_Menz5321d ago

From what I have seen on the forums people talking about dual cores is that it will run the game on low/med settings. But during MP a lot of times(especially 64 player servers) you will experience some issues if you try to run at higher settings.

Even if you gpu can handle it your cpu will bottleneck and you are bound to get frustrated. So either get a quad core cpu or run on low/med for MP.

RedDeadLB5321d ago

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll be playing BC2 until I get a new CPU.

KonaBro5321d ago

and in the SP I was pushing between 60-100FPS depending on what was going on and getting a steady 60-90FPS in MP on High with some Ultra settings and tweaks. Awesome game.

Battlefield 3 Cut Missions From Campaign Detailed by Former DICE Dev

Battlefield 3's former Lead Designer has revealed that there were two cut missions from the main campaign

XiNatsuDragnel501d ago

I wish someone can get those EA game leaks to see all the cut content ngl

anast501d ago

Get rid of campaigns, move the game to mobile, and try to compete with warzone. They would save time and money.

Bf4 was fun hope the new bf is just as good.

hmmm I think there will be no old BF glory days for EA since they are loyal to their greediness and laziness :D

Knightofelemia1287d ago

You're asking for a miracle with EA that will never happen unless they can exploit the money making schemes behind it.

MadLad1286d ago

We'll see what happens now that Zampella is overlooking the series.
