Space Giraffe developer Jeff Minter has said he's going to stop writing about game development on his blog after taking a bit of a shoeing for a late-night post earlier in the week where he complained bitterly that the Xbox Live Arcade version of Frogger was outselling his latest game "by more than ten to one".
"Not seeing a lot of reason to continue even trying to make games, at this point, when a remake of Frogger, one of the worst games in the history of old arcade games, can outsell Space Giraffe that we put so much love and effort into, by more than ten to one, in one week," Minter had written. "OK, we get the message. All you want on that channel is remakes of old, shite arcade games and crap you vaguely remember playing on your Amiga. ... We'll shut up trying to do anything new then."

If you stick an audio CD into an Xbox One it will (after downloading the relevant app) play it quite happily, and even pull the album cover and track list from the Gracenote database. Neat. Do the same with an Xbox 360, and you will enter a whole different world – one that is entirely generated by the best visualizer ever created.
In 2003, after 20 years of creating lightsynths for almost every platform, Jeff managed to get his incredible vision for Neon into a console that lasted a decade and sold more than 80 million units worldwide.
I loved the 360 music visualizer. I remember the short video they made about the making of it.
Its strange, MS had so much focus regarding music playback when the last gen kicked off but they don't seem as bothered this time round.
I was personally hoping for a kickass visualizer this time round but no, not even background music. And we are still waiting, Lame.

I liked Space Giraffe :(
Its a trippy time-kill ...
When the hell was that EVER fun?!?!
see ya!
I see exactly where he's coming from... These dev's are putting way too much effort into their games, only to have complete garbage outsell them. I mean, why spend millions on a game "Insomniac/Naughtydog&quo t; for instance, when any common pile of donkey **** Wii game is going to out sell it 20 to 1 cause people are slop dongs. No point. I see a huge trend where dev's stop taking the initiative in being creative, original and costly for a much simpler route. Nintendo has basically forced the industry, once again, to lower its standards across the board with the wii and it's garbage ass specs and endlessly $H*TTY remote.
