
Chris Buffa (Modojo): Chillingo's released so many physics based puzzle games that it's become somewhat comical. At least on the positive side, most deserve your attention.
Case in point, Civiballs. Yes, it has one of the worst titles in history, and sure, it doesn't serve as a benchmark for iPhone and iPad graphics. It is, on the other hand, smartly designed, engaging and a lot of fun.

Up for grabs is the area of smartphone and tablet-based gaming. As our Internet usage on mobile devices begins to rival our usage on desktops, it’s becoming clearer that gaming on tablets and smartphones should be taken seriously. But being serious sounds boring right now, so let’s have some fun and check out three light hearted apps instead.

STP: Civiballs is a game with a ridiculous name and a great concept. There’s some semblance of a story here, involving a young scientist and his monkey-dog companion travelling through time to three distinct eras: Roman, Viking, and Incan. You must help them collect valuable jewels, because, well, they’re valuable.
