Chrono Trigger (PS3/PSP) Review - BrutalGamer.com

BrutalGamer.com writes, "I have to be honest. I’m not sure how to handle this review. You don’t have to be a hardcore gamer to recognize the name Chrono Trigger. It’s an iconic game that came out in 1995, and there’s an obvious reason why its earned it praise. It was a good game and many people loved it!

At the same time, I’m a firm believer that the past is the past, and should stay the past. Sure, I like to wax nostalgic about my favorite games and developers from the 80s, 90s, and 00s, but anytime I go back and play them, I can’t help but compare them against modern games of the same genre. The sad truth of every classic game I’ve gone back and played: they’re never quite as enjoyable as they once were."

Aaaah, I do love bad reviews.
Chrono Trigger is one of those games that is released rarely. Let`s check games that "changed gaming":

Super Mario
Final Fantasy VI
Chrono Trigger
Super Metroid
Super Mario 64
Zelda:A Link to the past and Ocarina of Time
Goldeneye
Xenogears
Final Fantasy VII
Resident Evil 4
Demon`s Soul`s

This is my opinion/list and Chrono Trigger still deserves a full score since it`s one of few games that still will be remembered for it`s uniqueness.

On SNES? Definitely.... the PS1 version was always had technical issues, sadly.

Been playing this lately, for the first time. Definitely a 10/10 if it weren't for the lag and load times. They are brutal. x_x

This game was, is, and always will be a classic and a defining moment not just for RPGs, but for gaming in general. It should be held in a museum.

A remake or even a modern port would do since it is one of the best games all time. Can’t believe it’s been 30 years since I first played it

Azurite194d ago

It's on Steam, don't think they'll have another port unless it's a remake.

Yasunori Mitsuda is a talented composer I love the music both from Chrono Trigger, Xenogears. I will always enjoy Nobuo Uematsu as well. I would love to have seen the Chrono Trigger concert live.
