SFL Chronicle: Ah, video game plot twists! They can turn an otherwise great story into a brilliant story (think of the original inFamous here for a moment). Most of the time, however, plot twists in video games are just plain bad. Sometimes so bad that they lead to a lot of hilarity. So let’s talk about the elephant in the room; this top five is about the worst plot twists in video games…
But BG2 didn't emerge in a vacuum, and in a recent chat with Slandered Gaming it emerged that—while we can thank BG2 for a lot of our favourite RPGs since—we have a whole other game to thank for BG2. That'd be Final Fantasy 7, which lit a fire under BG2 director James Ohlen to go all out with the game's structure and companions, per Trent Oster—who worked on the original Baldur's Gate and has since become CEO of Beamdog, the studio behind the BG1 and BG2 Enhanced Editions.
Baldurs Gate 1&2 were my games back in the day on PC. Icewindale and Neverwinter Nights as well

Square Enix has announced multiple classic Final Fantasy titles will receive physical releases this December;including Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX.
Why can’t they just do a cool classic collection with VII, VIII and IX in with some goodies similar to what they did with the Pixel Remaster.
Weird that 7 and 8 are together for 40 and 9 is 40 on it's own.
8 should be the one on it's own as it actually has redone models.
I have ff8 ps4 remastered physical euro version. They should have put these on PS5 physically so lame.
I'm actually so tired of hearing about FFIX. Just replayed it with Moguri Mod earlier this month. That might as well be the definitive version.
Video games are always evolving. Okay, video games are sometimes evolving. And that’s especially true for long-standing franchises where innovation is essential to keep fans from getting, well, a bit bored. But there are plenty of franchises that just completely changed the game.
What the fuck did I just read?
Weird shit in there, BUT I will agree with the ME2 thing, they never touched on shepard coming back to life, if he had this crazy bouts or some shit that would have made the game much cooler, and it would have helped the dark atmosphere they tried to implement.
I don't like the thought process behind the choices. To take FFVII as an example, the choice seems to be explained by that the twist has been done before (what hasn't?), but because people actually care for this choice. Also, Aerith has as both as much personality as 32-bit and two CDs will allow. For what it's worth it was a sympatethic character, that had had a huge build up relationship with several of the other characters, that was suddenly removed from story and gameplay without pre-warning. Don't know if that's been done before.
If a list, which is pretty much the cheapest way to write an article to begin with, is going to be good enough for N4G it should have some overall point to it and be well written. Some objectivity and research wouldn't hurt either.
EDIT: The sin-gularity pun is funny though :)
did i just read an article in which the author stated that Dragon Age II was one of the best games this generation? Better than Mass Effect 2? I mean sure the endless pandering to Mass Effect 2 does get on my nerves it was a great game, but it is hard to deny that it was better than DAII. Please, if this is the world my children are going to inherit kill me now so they will never be born
Edit. Oh it was a joke post
God of war doesn't succeed in action department?
