Originally released in 1997 for the good old Nintendo 64, is this 3DS remake really worth your precious time and money? Is the game as good as you remember? Is Slippy Toad still as annoying?
The Star Fox franchise has significant gaming heritage that is relevant to the title being released early on as a flagship title in the early stages of the 3DS’s lifecycle. The original game was truly cutting edge for its time, being the first game to use the 3D polygon technology of the Super FX chip for the SNES. The unpublished Star Fox 2 on the SNES was infamous for allegedly being almost 100% completed and ready to produce but scrapped due to the imminent release of the N64. And, of course, the original version of Star Fox 64 on the N64 was the first game to utilize the wonderful Rumble Pak that was a true innovation in its time. It’s fitting then that as the 3DS is still in its infancy that the Star Fox franchise was chosen to be one of the most important early releases for the system.

BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."

Star Fox 64 3D, for the most part, focuses on improving the original in areas that matter, and the end result is worth respecting.
They need to release a new one and not screw around with motion controls, and actually put some challenge into it and not make it too much of a kids game where it's too easy.
