GP Editor, Jason Clement writes, "Most of us have known Square Enix to be a developer of great RPGs in the past. I'd even go so far to say that they were the best at making RPGs at the time. Who could forget classics like Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy VII? But many would argue that that golden age came to an end after the release of Final Fantasy X in 2001.
So what games would help repair their tarnished image as of late? Here's a few that gamers have been clamoring for over the years."

Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Square Enix announced its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year, related to the period between April and December 2025.

3D Investment Partners, a major shareholder of Square Enix, issued a 112-page presentation criticizing the company's 'sluggish' revenue and profit margins.
Waaah waaah our profits aren't big enough! I mean, they're still growing and all, but we want it faster and NOW! Waaaah!
KH3
FF13VS (Stays as exclusive)
Will be the 2 games
FF7 save Square once (PSOne era), its remake will save it again.
yep ffvs 13 and kindgom hearts 3 if they get around and to get it released ?
Remake FFVII - check
Develop KH3 - check
I think finally releasing FFXIII Versus would also help in a big way.
And fire Wada!
Btw: I think out of all that a sequel to The World Ends With You has a biggest chance to appear.
I hate the logic that if Square no longer possesses the talent or ability to make an honestly good game that they can save themselves by making a certain title.
