Jonathon Blow revolutionized downloadable games on Xbox Live with Braid in 2008. Now it seems the developer wants to do the same with iOS with his upcoming adventure puzzle game The Witness. The developer recently spoke about why he has chosen to focus on PC and iOS rather than bring the game to consoles.

Some games test your reflexes. These ones test your delusions of intelligence. In today's feature, Jump Dash Roll lists 11 games that made us feel smarter than we are — however briefly.
I'm generally rather good at puzzle/logic/et al typed games, but The Witness, specifically, made me feel like an obtuse idiot. I got the line puzzle thing for a while, and then the rules became more & more obscure. I gave up without making it particularly far into the game...
Now, I put part of the blame on my own skill, certainly, but also on the game for just...being nothing but 1,000 of the same kind of line draw puzzles the entire time. There are a few cool twists - some I stumble on, others seen in video - but overall, it just wasn't varied enough to make me *want* to overcome the hurdles. It's pretty, but a walking simulator with nothing but line puzzles, and no in-game hint system to help prod you along, was not a winning formula for me at least.
Kudos to those who understood it and felt smart because of it. But this doesn't feel - at least from my experience lol - to be a game on a "make you feel smart, even if you aren't" kinda list.
How on earth is "Blue Prince" not on this list? It is, imho, the greatest puzzle game ever made -- I am obsessed with it! I refuse to look up any solutions, making it that much more exciting when I finally crack a puzzle. Highly recommend it to anyone on the fence - an excellent game.

The saga of the legal battle that sees Epic Games fight Apple in the attempt to bring Fortnite back to iOS has just gained another chapter.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney notes that the mobile gaming industry is "largely broken," and blames the 30% tax levied by Apple and Google.
Man has been saying this for ages and knows full well the only thing he wants is more money at Apple and Google's expense and absolutely none of this will result in lower prices for the consumer.
The epic games store charges a 12% tax and has been losing money for 5 years...that sounds dysfunctional.
Nothing from what I've seen of the game thusfar indicates it couldn't be done on consoles, so in my opinion this is sheer laziness on Blow's part. #
Edit: Loving the blind fanboy rage I'm getting for this. I liked Braid, but from what I've heard from people that have talked to the guy Blow is a jerk.
"Jonathon Blow revolutionized downloadable games on Xbox Live with Braid in 2008"
Lol?
Braid was good, but it wasn't some revolution.
meh... consoles need an update... I wont deny that. But not by much. Gaming graphics in general is nearing a point where there is no "better." Where reality is having a hard time living up to the games these days... instead of the other way around.
I've been playing games a long time. I've never been a fan of graphics as a selling point for games, not since I was 12... but one more good leap in console technology would bring them into the realm of "better than real" graphics like the pc. THEN they could sit back and rest and wait for something to happen that necessitates a new console. The 360 isn't at that point... and i don't think the ps3 is ether. But their successors very well could be.
That said... I dont think there is any truth to the idea that this game is hard to port to consoles as a result of hardware limitations. I think its much more likely he doesn't want to deal with the licensing requirements enforced by Sony and MS. Even then its hard to feel sympathy... no one else seems to be having much of a problem getting their games licensed.
im starting to wonder where are these almighty pc graphics over uncharted 2 and killzone 2 and gow3 if this guy can show me that then i can agree with 5 years old talk
Just put it on Steam, and I will consider buying it!
