MMGN writes: Another year, another PES title. Konami’s football franchise has had it tough in recent years, being comfortably over-taken by EA Sports’ FIFA franchise. It would be had to argue that the existence of such competition for PES didn’t contribute to what is arguably a diluted market presence, compounded by a lack of official licenses.
However, whatever PES lacks in big-name players and teams it makes up for in AI intelligence, an aspect I think Konami’s pride and joy rips FIFA new one. While robotic movements and a distinctive lack of authenticity might still plague PES 12, it’s still a fantastic football game, continuing on from the solid effort that was PES 11.
