One thing I've learned from my time here is to not listen to one second of hype from this site.

First Brink was hailed as a mghty FPS that would change everything. (-_-)

Crysis 2 hailed as graphics king (lol)

Gears 3 has amazing graphics (I actually believed that one because the youtube videos looked so great, then I played it and everything but the skin textures and the small advances in lighting is the same as Gears 2)

And the last being BF3 on consoles is up there with UC an KZ. I'm not going to have high expectations anymore, because of the overhyping going on.

What I'm trying to say is don't base your opinion of a game on the screenshots and youtube videos you see, you actually have to play the game or see it first hand in order to see the truth. There are far to many fanboys and haters that give bias opinions around here.

Well it looks good for what its on, was anybody seriously expecting PC graphics on consoles!? Anyways BF3 graphics put all other FPS's to shame on any platform.

Is it just me or are there alot of article trying to run the PS3 version down? What is this about the second or third one in a couple days?

Or is this just a petty retaliation at the sites that claimed PS3 was the better looking console version, so now it needs to be highlighted that PC looks better, as if we didnt already FKN know that.

Im playing the beta and the graphics are really nice better than bad company 2, we all now that all games on multiplayer have worst graphics than the single player look at killzone 3 amazing graphics on single player and medium on multiplayer. Im enjoying the beta its nice the only thing i hate is we die very fast like call of duty, i wish it was like bad company. If someone shoot at you and you try to run and counter thats the feel i want it, like the other battlefield. In this beta if someone shoot at you its like by by im dead , wich spot was the enemy at?

Never mind the graphics.......the friggin load times are ridiculous!!

Put a dam SSD in the next Gen consoles! Disc and Load times are like Dinosaurs and should be extinct!!

Say what you want but those graphics suck bad!!!!! I'm still getting it though but it's not in the same league as Killzone,UC3,Rage or Gears in terms of graphics in my book. Pc version does look sick though but i have a PS3 so oh well lol.

The ps3 version looks great. It just need some bugs/glitch fixing. Some people got too high expectations. You can't just play the beta for 30 min and judge, give it some time.

Expectations that this game would hit some new graphical height for consoles are way off. It won't be a whole lot different to BF:BC2, which looks fine in my opinion anyway.

Fact is that the only games that end up in that top graphics notch on any console end up being exclusives for either platform.

And what's with all the comparisons of console to PC? Everyone knows good PC's are streaks ahead of 4-5 year old console hardware. A 5 year old PC wouldn't probably run this at console level graphics or worse, so who cares. Comparing consoles and PC's is futile, everyone knows a good PC can outperform any console.

Well I played the beta just now on Ps3 and I can say it resembles Bad Company 2 a LOT. The only major difference that I can tell is the lighting and depth of field, which is way better than Bad Company. However the textures and character models are more or less the same as BC2 with maybe a few improvements.

Though the graphics are good enough, its the random crap that goes on during a match which is a tad annoying. You see people diving into the ground waste deep and sometimes when you die you enter another world O.O Also knives are janked up, as well as getting shot when your obviously behind cover. Other than that, man the game is AWESOME!! In the metro it feels so intense while you fight your way through enemies with your squad. Wish their was a mute button haha but other than that it's an amazing and intense experience :) Don't let those technical guys sway your decision from playing this game!

Games are a form of entertainment, and I can tell you from 1st hand BF3 is here to ENTERTAIN!

well, It is..what 512mb of ram on console would allow, I guess. Still, The pc "elitists" will run their mouth saying their ver is the best blah blah blah. It doesnt need mention, but this is N4G, where grown men still play the "mine is bigger than yours" contests.

Who freaking cares,you play the game for fun and gameplay not the Goddamn graphics. Stupid generation of gamers always bitching about graphics.

The game looks great running on the ps3 and 360. Should just be happy to play it because I certainly am.

I like the game a lot, but the graphics have me wondering. I mean the demos shown on the 360 and PS3 looked great. But the beta/demo is kinda ugly. Haven't seen too much destruction either which is dissapointing. Just have to wait and see if they bring the conquest mode in with vehicles... Still enjoying the game overall though. Definite day one.

Well from after playing the beta on the ps3 clearly you can tell it is a beta. The game does look good, but when to much chaos happens the frame-rate stutters little bit. Also pop-ins do occur but not super noticeable once and awhile it happens. The only problems i have isn't the visuals its the gamplay bugs and glitches such as teammates floating across the map or the other team falling through the ground when in prone mode. The 2 biggest problems is the damage of the rockets and the hit detection. Rpg/missile launchers i know can be noobish but when u fire a rocket at a group of people u except to kill them not just get hit marker. so clearly the rpgs/missiles are way to under power. the hit detection dear god needs fixing ive shot a guy bunches of time somehow it shows the hit marker but when i die it shows his life still 100% which is big time bs. Overall im hoping whats in the beta gets fixed and the game looks even better.

After playing the PS3 beta and hearing about this game being hyped to be one of the best looking games out there on console - it was a major disappointment graphically. Not even close to being up with the top looking games on consoles, it's not any better looking than BC2.

The game play is unique and the sound is outstanding, but graphics are a major letdown on the consoles, MW3 will look much better than this game in motion.

Battlefield 3 has a new engine and was going to be all about graphics, this has not happened, well maybe for PC users but after playing both MW3 and Battlefield 3 single/multi first hand I can confirm the consoles are not getting a game gamer.

I haven't played the beta yet but from what I have seen it looks no better than BC2. Just played through the KZ3 campaign and KZs graphics blow this away on ALL platforms from what I have seen so far. I couldn't care less if it looks like BC2 because BC2 in my opinion looks great anyway. Im just looking forward to the gameplay aspect of it all.

I can't get over the massive amounts of screen tearing... I'm sorry... I won't be giving this game a chance at all.

All this talk about graphics. If you truly feel that graphics are important then you would have been playing games on PC long ago.

Build a PC or buy one pre-built. Battlefield 3 has built in controller support that works excellent on PC. They did a great job on it. Im on top of the scoreboard consistently. Convert to PC now. You wont regret it.

BF3 graphics on PS3 have screen tearing just as all DICE games on consoles do unfortunately.

Haha, yesterday a bunch of news on PS3 battlefield beta. Now some PR control from an "unknown" source about how the "PS3 ain't that great".

Only on N4G.COM can people actually think the PS3 version of BF3 will look even remotely good as the PC version.
This game is running an almost full dynamic game engine with real time soft shadows etc/lighting and destruction with Global Illumination and other real time effects.
Of COURSE the PS3 and the Xbox360 versions will not look like the PC version.

OK... so... anyone wanna talk about Battlefield 3, or do y'all just wanna keep bashing each other's platform of choice and compare everyhting to Gears 3, Killzone, and Uncharted?

From what i remember...battlefield bad company 2 beta didnt look near as good as the retail version. Everything was more polished and crisp in the retail version. The game still looks good for being a beta but they do need to fix the players morphing into the ground and hit detection. But they fixed all that in bc2 beta to retail so no worries from me. Its still a great time playing the game. And you can tell there are some COD transplants already cuz they make no attempt to disarm the bomb or arm the bomb and just run around trying to get their k/d ratio as good as it can be.

The beta for ps3 and 360 looks good. Not mind blowing, but good.

All this hype from EA and DICE.

No doubt they created a beautiful game for the pc.

But they could have put more effort in the console versions.

Remember folks, this is a beta...No real worries. The MOH beta looked great but was well under par compared to ITSELF when the full version came out. I played both the PS3 and 360 versions (BF3). Not trying to sound like a fanboy, but the PS3 version was far superior, 360 had issues. Again though, this is only a beta.

Having been a Sony beta test member since 08, I can say all betas have crap graphics. The graphics are the last thing to be polished before the game ships.

Don't worry too much about it.

You people complaining that it doesnt look good and blaming dice, do you ever stop and think, wait my consoles is 5 -6 years old. Its outdated. Dice did what they could.

I'm more concerned about the ugly ground textures. Don't care about the player moderls they look ok.

The next person who compares Pc to console .....oh nevermind its pointless.
