It's still very much a secondary control system (perhaps even laying claim only to third or fourth choice considering actual steering wheels). But when we asked Forza 4 creative director Dan Greenawalt whether Kinect will play a more central role in Forza in the future he seemed optimistic.

Having outgrown its Gran Turismo rivalry, Forza Motorsport is looking to redefine racing games in glorious high fidelity for Xbox Series X and S.
I think forza horizon is now number one on the forza games. That franchise took the number one spot on racing on Microsoft machines. I think they should go next to forza rally, because there a huge hole on that area of racing. A full forza rally would be great. I think normal racing game already hit the ceiling.
This game looks absolutely insane visually. I'm wondering what framerate it'll run at with RT enabled. Obviously, there will be 120hz and 60hz modes, but with what level of detail & RT is the question.
does anyone remembers Rallisport challenge 20 years ago - that game was some rally racing with great graphics too

Joy Ride Turbo launched 10 years ago today. The first title was Xbox Kinect exclusive, yet this sequel failed to support the device at all.

Cultured Vultures: "Sadly, not all hardware is created equal, and no matter how much developers might try, some gaming hardware just fails to hit the mark. We’ve compiled a list of 10 gaming hardware fails, and boy did some fail hard."
I would label the Power Glove, Kinect, and that Tony Hawk skateboard more as hardware addons hardware failure would be like the Virtual Boy and one day Stadia.
The picture should be the 360 RROD. When I think of gaming hardware failures that's what springs to mind. Kinect and it's bundled price tag definitely hobbled the already underpowered Xbox One though for sure so I would give it a close second place.
Lol I had the Atari Jaguar, surprised its "competition" the 3DO isn't on the list too, both as "popular" as each other.
Stadia is a weird one. It hasn’t sold at all well but in terms of how it works it’s still miles ahead of Xcloud in terms of stability and performance. Xcloud is still a way behind and that needs sorting but it will be in time. Stadia for me is one of those things that will go down as a what could have been moments. With better marketing it could have been a roaring success. I still play it and it remains the best place in my opinion to play CyberPunk 2077. Only platform I have played it on without having any issues at all. The tech is great. The concept is fine. Marketing terrible. Shame really.
The Xbox One was Microsoft’s Nintendo Wii U. Undercooked, undersold and just an unholy mess. The thing is with any of these failures is to learn from them and thankfully both Nintendo and Xbox did just that to the benefit of gamers everywhere.
I love you Dan, I really do, you've made this gen's most critically acclaimed racing game, but I disagree with you on this one. Its going to take more than just time. We need hybrid kinect/controller games.
And a Playstation logo to win over n4g.
Edit: But seriously, it will also need an innovative feature that progresses a genre forward, while also being 51% of the gameplay. Subtle additions are a start, but it has to be much more for the cost of the device.
It wont just take time there needs to be a real hardcore game with more sensitive controls. Its a good thing that the games are moving on from on rails but now they need to improve on that and make it more interactive. They should use the voice recognition in cut scenes add choices to the future game stories put in quick time events add in more immersion combat. I posted an idea for a dbz game using kinect why cant there be a kinect controller game play on streetfighter x tekken where you can do moves by mixing gesture and voice command. The kinect is not only a controller it is also a mic and a scanner they should implement these things if not for game play maybe for things like customization.
Kinect is great but it needs sometype of analog controls for moving freely inside the gaming world. The 360 controller seems like something that would interfere with the Kinect experience. Maybe they could add a Wii like analog with trigger leaving one hand free for motion.
