uTorrent slowly turning into useless bloatware just as Azureus did. Plus version offers the same stuff I can do with free conversion tools by visiting sites like videohelp.com or doom9.org !

tdrules5343d ago

ripping youtube videos for music/video content makes limewire look sophisticated.

some people do care about quality, also the bloatware argument is stupid.

it's still one of the most lightweight torrent clients available

TopDudeMan5343d ago

I couldn't care less about iOS being on there, but it's a shame people will be using it to pirate console games.

whydoyouask5343d ago

uTorrent only downloads, dude; if your anti-piracy at least blame the actual problem.

TopDudeMan5343d ago

You can say that all day, but you know that uTorrent is the program that loads of people use for downloading pirated media.

And, yeah the main problem are the people who upload them, but that doesn't mean I can't be mad at this, too.

@TopDudeMan

I'm angry at gun makers for the ease in the mass amounts of armed robberies! *flips table*

Mike_Tha_Hero5343d ago

So it's okay to steal music and videos (which I'm sure you do) but not video games?

Stealing isn't subjective, it's wrong no matter what it is.

persistentlobster5343d ago

Stealing IS subjective. If I download The Beatles discography that's perfectly fine in my book because they are already an established(to say the least) group and aren't exactly in the need of more money. If you are, however, to pirate music from an up and coming band that is just trying to get their foothole and make a decent living in the industry then that is wrong. Same goes for games. Steal call of duty however much you like and i'm pretty sure they'll be just fine. Also if a game is fucking old and has already made a massive number of sales then imo pirating in that circumstance also is fine. The problem is when people see a new IP and don't want to risk they're precious dollars so they pirate the game and they developer is punished for it. Not only is it horrible for the industry economically, but it discourages developers from innovating and in return we end up with a million gazillion sequels and shooters. Stealing IS subjective.

Mike_Tha_Hero5343d ago

Dear God PLEASE be joking.

The LAW is not subjective. I can't steal from an old billionaire on his deathbed and get away on the means of "he doesn't need it".

Dude that argument is beyond skewed, I can't even reply to the rest.

persistentlobster5343d ago

Well that's different because your bringing morality into it. If you steal from a dead guy you're screwed up. Anyways I hate that stupid "the law is the law" mentality. It often prevents people from thinking logically. You shouldn't commit illegal acts because of the reason BEHIND the law, not just for law's sake. The law against piracy is there so that company's don't go out of business. But if a company is earning way more profits than deserved don't you believe that in a way they have it coming to them? I just think the consumer should always be conscious of the damage/impact they are inflicting when pirating media. I'm pretty sure last time I checked that Treyarch/Activision had sold over 18 million new copies to date so they are hardly hurting. Similarly, if you pirated Enslaved then you are an asshole. You may think my logic is screwed up and most people (the law included) will definitely agree with you, but I also believe in rewarding deserving companies that have truly put their heart and soul into a product and I will GLADLY pay full price for that product.

My logic is unlawful but I think it is much more ethical to be aware of ware your money is going and the type of companies you're supporting than to spend blindly. BUT I am very glad that piracy is illegal because 90% of the people who pirate aren't conscious of this and just end up downloading everything.

pixelsword5343d ago

?

Now 360 pirates can download the ripped game directly into their HD, maybe?

FragMnTagM5343d ago

Just video conversion to your platform of choice is all. Reading helps sometimes.

pixelsword5342d ago

Hacking is more than getting access into computers; even simple modifications could open this up.

FragMnTagM5342d ago

I don't think you know what you are talking about. The only thing this new uTorrent thing is doing is converting video for your platform of choice is all.

It is not running on the platform, nor is it streaming to it. I don't get what you are on about.

shikamaroooo5343d ago

Iv been using t torrent from android market to torrent of pirate bay can't wait for this

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle13d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

To be fair, there are also human made games that release and lack any fun at all either.

jznrpg16d ago

But all of the great games have been made by humans

jwillj2k415d ago

One is by choice, the other is a feature.

PRIMORDUS15d ago

Guild Wars 2 been playing for 14yrs, 1st beta. This is just one company I support, Arenanet and NCSoft, even though I torrent, there are a few PC companies I will buy from. "PlayStation’s Horizon MMO spin-off, Horizon Steel Frontiers." I feel this will be good, NCSoft is a good developer/publisher.

CrimsonWing6915d ago

It’s a tool. Use it elevate things and get it done faster. I’m sorry but not every game made by humans is good. If this can help things, then I fully embrace it.
