Idtech 5 is probably better than Cryengine 3 aswell, wasn't it a downgrade from Cryengine 2?

Won't be long until UE4 cleans some house too, hopefully Epic's next game.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure Cry-Engine 3 is just a Cry-Engine 2 optimized for consoles.

Granted, Cry-Engine 2 while visually stunning was horribly optimized to the point where it's just now becoming playable on max settings at 60 fps and mods.

the engine was just gimped in crysis 2 because crytek made crysis 2 first on console and ported to pc instead of vice versa. the console version of cryengine 3 is a generation behind the pc version(cryengine 3 is actually next generation console ready). read the cryengine 3 documentation you'd realize that its much more powerful than cryengine 2 it just doesn't have a technical showcase yet

cryengine 3 is actually superior to frostbite 2 we just won't see its true potential until crytek makes a game with pc as the lead platform

RAGE engine is called ID tech 5 and its not superior to the unreal engine 3 that ran Samaritan tech demo.ID tech 5 has weaknesses even john Carmack himself said it do some research would you ?

the latest build of unreal engine 3 that ran the Samaritan tech demo is more powerful than ID Tech 5 the problem is epic hasn't set out to push pc if they did unreal can deliver Samaritan tech demo graphics on high end pc hardware.

cryengine 3 is superior to 2 read the documentation before making comments would you ? and cryengine 3 would beat ID tech 5 into the ground in all departments except textures which is what ID tech 5 excels at the most. you obviously don't know much about game development well most gamers don't and thats a problem

I don't see that as a "fix" being needed, I see that as a workaround to get these high resolution textures loaded on a console when there's not enough ram. I think it's absolutely terrible, but it also seems like the only way on the Unreal engine to get them loaded on consoles.

Cleary you havent played Gears 3 because there arent any pop in textures. Its runs amazingly smooth

So it takes an extra second or 2 to load the textures. I don't care about it. You can't tell me that Batman Arkham Asylum sucks because it runs on the UE3. Also UE3 supports PhysX so yeah lol...

I never understood that. I remember a guy that commented on a YT video I saw had said that he uses Cronus because he works a lot and doesn't have time to sweat. Lol, I was like "wtf?".
