With the Final Fantasy X HD "remake" coming to the PlayStation 3 and Vita, don't expect Square Enix to fiddle with the game. That'd be suicidal.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
Cultured Vultures: We’ve rounded up the most well-aged PS2 games out there, just in case you’ve been meaning to revisit some childhood memories, or even if you’re checking out the PlayStation 2 for the very first time.
id throw haunting ground into the mix. it still looks fantastic.
but i still dont quite understand why we never got a dragon quest 8 remaster for ps4. even the damn 3ds got one.
Silent Hill 3 was straight up sorcery. It has better hair animation than most modern games, which is wild to me.

Take it down the memory lane with this ultimate list of the best PlayStation 2 games of all time. Just the best of the best right here.
It's so disappointing that to this day, I have not seen a game match what BLACK offers in an FPS.
The greatest console of all time !!!!
The last console from when gaming was pure, games didn't take 5 years to release, no online only, no half finished games, no mtx.
Ps2 was just banger after banger after banger.
It will always be my favourite.
Given Square's current track record, I can't see how they wont screw things up if they do more than upscale the game.
And because of past Square's rep, this new one is going to do more than upscale it.
People always say that if Square Enix was to remake a legendary Final Fantasy, it could turn out catastrophically and different from the original game. With that said if you look at remakes Square has done in the past: Final Fantasy 3 and 4, Kingdom hearts re:Chain of Memories, Square Enix actually has a great record thus far with remakes--it maybe the only thing the company does good actually since the Square Soft days.
And many of the people who worked on Final Fantasy X are still there, and they of course value their own ideas--Especially Toriyama, Nomura, and Kitase.
I'm trying not to get too excited for this because Square Enix will probably f it up.
Since when is SE trying to cater to twitchy action-fans in the west? If anything, XII and XIV have demonstrated a strong desire to cater toward fans who enjoy extremely passive gameplay.
Hell, if SE has demonstrated any ONE thing beyond any doubt, it's that they simply don't have any confidence in their own developers (something I don't really have to give examples of, right?). That's why instead of producing their own content, SE has simply been remaking, re-releasing and rehashing content produced by Square.
Quick: out of the last RPGs SE published, how many were originally developed by SE? How many by just E? Now which ones were best received by the media and community?
If Square Enix mess up FF X, then they need to GTFO of the gaming industry. All you need to do is update the graphics and sound for it to become successful.
