3/10 for Dead Island
Totally agree, it's fun for 2h and then there is no story, bugs, problems, it is just simple run & kill and that is boring, every mission is like kill 1000 zombies, get an item and go back killing more ZOMBIES LOL

Dead Island is a blast for the initial 25-30hr playthrough.

I'd give it a 7, personally.

Edge should rename themselves to 'Troll' for the space marine and dead island review scores.

The fact they scored Bodycount higher than Dead Island makes me shake my head.

I don't necessarily agree with these scores, but I feel like scores have been going way too high lately, seriously it feels like every game lately has gotten a 8.5 or higher. It's kinda refreshing to see reviewers using the full scale for once.

Dead island a 3/10? Ouch! Glad I skipped that!

Gears3 sounds about right. As does r3, I finished that and gave it a 7.

EDGE is a joke... seriously..

Does anyone really buy games based on EDGES opinion? I didn't think so.

Edge have by far the worse reviews. Those guys are utterly clueless when it comes to video games. I havent seen a single review that I agree with in the last three years. They're a joke.

It's pretty hard to argue with what people have said here: EDGE consistently scores PS3 games not just lower than the average, but lower than their 360 counterparts.

@Kaveti: mentioning Rise of Nightmares compared to Resistance is silly, just so you know. Nobody said EVERY 360 exclusive scored higher than EVERY PS3 exclusive, but you're delusional if you think those scores are unbiased.

And for those of you who think bias should exist: think again. A review should be as subjective as possible; objective opinions should be clearly noted as such. If you don't like a game, franchise, or genre, you're probably not the best to review a game that fits into one of those categories, as your preconceptions (currently, we're speaking of a bias towards 360 and away from PS3) will unfairly color your review.

I think they may be on the "edge" if this kind of reviews keep comming, people that play games and buy magazines most of the time checks the net for online reviews, and also look more than one opinion before getting a game, and most of the time, their opinion is different from most sites...
People just will skip their opinion, for not been very objetive.

IMO Dead Island is a brilliant game. Nothing less than 9/10. Well, apparently Dead Island has already sold more than a million copies so obviously very few people give a sh#t what the Edge reviewers think in anyway.

Seriously low score for space marine. I quite enjoyed that game. seems across the board users are generally rating it slightly higher than review sites have

I would have gave dead island a 5 and warhammer 40k space marine a 7 I really enjoyed that game hopefully they will improve it with sequels.

Weirdly though I like a lot of Edge's writing, just not their scoring and the justifications thereof. In nobody's scoring system should DI be 3/10. That low a score would imply so bad or broken as to be almost entirely without merit, and not enjoyable at all.

Even an opinionated reviewer should be able to see worth when they don't personally like something, or even if they hit technical snags it's not fair to assume every player will.

So tired of Edge. I wish they would stop bringing PS3 exclusives down and just stick to reviewing for their console of choice.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
