Gamer's Guide to Black Friday

With every year that goes by, the Black Friday hype machine continues to grow exponentially. It's you against the soccer mom's, and trust me... you need every advantage over those vixens! These moms were once the girls that started school yard fights where no rules applied - biting, scratching, eye gouging... etc...

The competition is tough as nails, and you can throw all the rules of society and law out the window.

You have to have a plan, a back up plan, and a back up to the back up plan...

What is Black Friday? I need to ask as it has being mentioned a lot the past week.

I am European by the way.

Rooted_Dust6766d ago

It's consumerism at it's worst. The day after Thanksgiving the stores open about 1-2 hours early and sell limited amounts of goods at bargain prices. This leads to People trampling others just to get to a coveted toy or electronic item. Some times it can be worth it as far as electronics go. Some sell for as low as 50% off. I will go again this year if they put a deal on Geforce 8800 GT cards, or maybe just to watch all the Bad Santas climbing over each other.

So basically its like the after Christmas sales in Europe selling off the last of the Christmas stock

Thanks for that I will sent a bubble your way

so i see its US thingy.

Don't care. NEXT

RadientFlux6766d ago

it's also the worst day to do any shopping...

While I live in Canada, I've been the states a few times during Black Friday and just the amount of rude/rushing people can ruin any holiday cheer you might have.

Kholinar6766d ago

ehhh... it's not that bad.

I enjoy it.

It's sort of a like a multi-player deathmatch with your weapon being a shopping cart and nothing's illegal.

Actually it's a little crowded but generally not bad. It used to be much worse, but companies have started the sales several weeks early for years now so the crowd is diluted. Makes for a fab time to shop.

"It's sort of a like a multi-player deathmatch"

That had me ROLLING. Funniest comment I have read in a while.

(it's funny because it's true)

Bubble for making me laugh.

Would LOVE to hit up Circuit City for 35 dollar Mario Galaxy. but 10 minute drive is a no. So best buy that is 5 minutes away is where I'll be. BUT it sucks that it decides to be cold all of a sudden. Thanks.

I got my copy at Best Buy for $50 + a free $25 Best Buy GC (so basically, $25 for Mario Galaxy). PM me if you want more info on the Mario Galaxy deal. I think it ends tomorrow but not sure.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing26d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9226d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit26d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing26d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9226d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
