It seems like only yesterday that Apple had a monopoly on the Tablet business with the IPad. However, as with anything involving technology, it wasn’t long before the other companies started producing tablets of their own. As well as Apple; now ASUS, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Dell, and Acer all have tablets of their own. This is, all but one company: Sony.
Following hot on the heels of the first PlayStation Phone, Sony has today unveiled its first tablet device that will be capable of (officially) playing PlayStation games.
"Both run on Android 3.0, and have wi-fi, 3G and 4G connectivity.
You can also, if you've got other Sony gear in your living room, use them as remote controls for things like Bravia TV sets."

I used to say how crap the Apple tablet was, now that Sony have one I am considering buying it. Lol at my sad fanboyism...
What's up with Sony expanding so much lately? It's not a bad thing but I hope their main focus stays with the ps3. PS3, PSP, NGP, PS2, phones, tablets, tv, stereos, mp3s, laptops, etc. That's a lot!
Not really expanding, just communication going better within it's branches. Sony already produced phones, personal computers, gaming consoles and handsets for quite a long time now.
The difference this time around is that their gaming division was put to work more closely with their other brands of hardware (SonyEricsson, Vaio, etc) instead of just the gaming hardware (Playstation).
Since it's mostly a colaboration of brand recognition (use the Playstation name) and software integration (develop the Playstation Suite) I don't see Sony asking SCE to focus on any platform that isn't a gaming console or handheld beyond what's being done now, Sony isn't really developing games for those new devices, just standarizing for third party devs
and maybe in the future further integrate Playstation Suite to PSN or something...
On the TVs, Stereos and MP3s... I don't think we'll see much of a Playstation integration for those soon, but still not really expanding, Sony had been making those from way before SCE even existed (except MP3 players, but even before that the same Walkman Media Player and MobilePhone brand they use now was used around Portable Audiocassete and CD Players).

How much its going to cost. Hopefully Sony learn a lesson from most of the android tablets on the market....smarter pricing
