This is very true, my nephews grew up on these two games and whenever I introduce them a AAA game whether old or new, it's like seeing an alien try to make sense of it and then quickly lose interest in it.

Gaming trends are so weird to me now. Like, I’m old school and games were consumed essentially how movies were. You play through a title and look forward to the sequel or other things that came out. Now, that is so not the norm.

I like it mainly because it's an excuse to start a new server. The bigger biomes definitely make the scope feel wider.
I think it brings enough new stuff to the table to make it worth the play time.
I hope come final release, all updates going forward will quit obsolescing previous worlds. It's starting to get annoying to have to ditch everything I've done whenever a new update comes.
It's still in beta and I'm happy to deal with it for the time being. But once it's out of beta, that shit has got to end.
