It's a big day for Valve. Not only has the company just revealed its new, super-creepy version of the classic "Open your mind" logo, but it's also been announced that there are more than 35 million active Steam users. Break out the champagne, folks!

Yeah, I was amazed when I learned about that. Also, the Dr. House-looking guy with the valve in his eye means "open your eyes." Valve is truly a great developer and publisher, and a nice breath of fresh air from the greedy idiots ruining the industry these days.

Hey steam is a dam good drm replacement and they gave out portal 1 for fee and have very good slaes congrats steam to the big number.

very fn true to all those that support origin your supporting horrible drm and the right for publishers to make a pc market were each publisher has there own app and store can you imagine every one of your games require there own publishers program to run it? you could have like 15 different program drm services installed fuk that.But that is the future if you support origin.

Yea, it does feel good to be one of those users. Best money I ever spent was on steam. Some times I just go buy games up there for hell of it especially when they are uber cheap.

I use Steam daily. Im not surprised that they released this info after microsoft officially announced windows 8 with built in Xbox live support.

Steam rules PC gaming right now but if microsoft plays their cards right, that could change. Only time will tell.

Competition is good for gamers.

While competition is good for gamers, Windows 8 integration won't do anything if Microsoft still plans on nickel and diming PC gamers with trying to get them to pay for online play.

Microsoft lost all their reputation for PC game distribution with GFWL.

Microsoft might have a good ARM based market with tablets/phones/desktops through Xbox Live, although I doubt they will ever recapture hardcore PC gaming.

Personally i dont mind paying if there is a sevice worth paying for. If i can play all multiplatform games with xbox friends and obtain achievements then yes i will pay. Also id like for them to add Halo and the Gears series to PC.

I cant imagine logging on windows 8 only to see and chat with xbox friends without the ability to play my favorite games with them. GFWL is similar to that now. If this is the case then yes this whole windows 8 thing will be garbage.

Oh snap the Valve guy logo slightly turned his head and did i hear him whisper "Half Life 2 episode 3 on the Source Engine 2.0" or maybe that was me!

I wonder what this could mean......Valve also has the best brain teasers.

Oh P.S. Origins and GFWL both suck Valves exhaust fumes.
