Now that 360 fans have finally been given a chance to get to grips with a PES 2012 demo, we can kick off initial impressions on this year's footie-sim season as Konami goes up against EA Sport's FIFA franchise once again. Konami's spent the last few years sitting on the bench while FIFA looked to be improving on the pitch with every game. With the turn of the generation, PES failed to make the next-gen jump while FIFA showed it was ready to up its game.

Nintendo Gamer - You may remember when a month or so ago we received a copy of FIFA 13 on the Wii and quickly realised it was absolute identical to FIFA 12, save for a roster update.
At the time we slammed EA for this, calling it “a £30 roster update” and telling them they should have been ashamed of themselves. After all, they were pulling the wool over Wii owners’ eyes and masquerading FIFA 13 as a new game when in reality it wasn’t.

DSOGaming writes: "This article was inspired by a video that Elias Peppas shared with me. YouTube’s member ‘HelixSnake’ made a compilation of some epic physics fails from Skate 3. And this made us wonder; what could possibly go wrong in a video-game when physics engine go insane? Well, the answer is quite simple. You can get some gay stuff thanks to the Impact Engine of Fifa 12 & 13, spinning cars, boobs that can go up and down, and games with non-existent collisions (yeah, we’re talking about the legendary ‘Big Rigs’ game)."
LOL! That freaking Skate 3 video collection was just amazing... I want that game now...
LOLOL THAT was the funniest thing I've ever seen!!! Especially the Skate 3 compilation!!!
That was good times. Laughed so hard it made me want to search for more.

Go Nintendo - When EA was contacted about FIFA 12 being largely repackaged as FIFA 13 for Wii, here's what a rep had to say.
Go Nintendo seems to be scratching for news here. Sure, it probably is the same game, but what do you expect with Wii?
lol EA repackaging old games into the new version each year?
Wait until the Madden fans find out...oh wait nevermind.
Wow EA and here I actually gave you a little credit for Fifa 13.
Now I feel stupid. How are companies able to just rob people like this? Actually getting away with it being caught red handed also?
Can someone sue these basterds already, charging for online to play in old games, now this? Is this not enough proof they are greedy as shit?
Or am I missing something here?
They probably don't even sell enough copies on wii to justify any major effort. They just release it with an updated roster for those who missed last years or new comers.
Neither. I played the FIFA demo and stopped after 1 match because I was bored and I played about 70 (game) minutes of PES before I deleted it because the gameplay was so woefully bad.
FIFA is by far a better game then PES.. But I played it with over 300fps on PC..maybe that's why xD
the Pes demo sucks. I have to lol at their bs. At Gamescom they said they'd release two demos. One at 70% complete and one at final build (lol by Gamescom,Im sure pes was already Gold). Both demos play and look the same. The a.i still sucks. controlling two players is a gimmick (that was actually in Fifa04) .
The fifa demo is brilliant. If you know soccer, you'd know why. Its just I hope they've ironed out the impact engine glitches by release. But,once again... pes shows why they lose this year, Seabass and Jon Murphy are lazy lying devs. and Pes is a good arcade game, but a bad soccer simulation.
Ever since Fifa 08, EA Sports really stepped up their game and from that point onwards, Fifa has dominated. Licensed stadiums, team names, kits, commentry, controls, visuals, physics, realism... I was a PES lover all the way from when it was ISS soccer 3.
It just hasnt modernised or better been a real threat to Fifa. The only plus side it has is no online pass but the victory is slim cos neither companies update the team rosters for their older games.
I can understand why from a business point of view but for me as a consumer, I havent bought any football games because of those reasons ever since I got my PS3. With my PS2 there was an excuse that the online wasnt fully developed and teams couldnt be updated but with this gen of consoles its kind of silly and lazy. If EA/Konami wanted, they could just charge $10/£ and update rosters on older games. I have many games to play from a variety of different genres, paying £40/$60 on a game I'll play on occasion and have to drop that price again for its successor just to get the new teams, is absolutely not worth it for me.
My cousin, all he plays is Fifa so I guess its worth it for him. And thats my life story lol.
Former pes convert and have to say since Fifa 09, haven't been able to play a pes game. Loving the fifa demo especially the new tactical defending however even I have to admit, the new pes demo is a lot better than I was expecting. Don't know if I'll go as far as to buy it full price, however if I ever fancy a change from fifa, would happily pick it up.
