"The so-called "death" of PC gaming remains one of the most widely cited myths, thanks to the proliferation of bad marketers whose interest rests in the popularity of videogame consoles. This myth and misconception remains a part of the public consciousness despite arguments to the contrary."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
The first one is a little self explanatory with a move to fully digital content with PC being the major platform for free to play games which produce big profits so increasing revenue. The ghz is a little obvious with a standard laptop being nearing 2ghz. Times have changed for 2005. I think to make a statement that many will leave the PS3 for PC isn't supported by the evidence because the evidence ignores PC in every house and having Facebook games taking off. But does this mean people leave the PS3 for PC gaming? No. They play both. I can't remember the figures but a lot of people play facebook games at work
PC may have better graphics, but it is too much of a pain in the ass to deal with. I would rather just have a console. Plus I like my exclusives. Plus that is a lie saying gaming PC's cost the same or cheaper than a console. Unless you build it yourself you are going to pay thousands. Not everyone knows how, or wants to deal with building a computer. Those that do probably already play PC games. Those that don't probably have money or play consoles.
"Additionally, the infographic points toward the processing power of the AVERAGE PC, allowing PC games much higher peaks in terms of performance, and visual quality, with very little sacrifice...."
Oh man...saying that on N4G.COM and that will cause a MAJOR poop storm.
The onslaught of the you know who's will be coming to say this is all ONE BIG EVIL LIE....

You can buy pre built systems for $700-$1000 that are faster than these consoles. That is not thousands.

It's SOOO scary that people still beleive the myth that PC gaming is so expensive and PC's to run games costs THOUSANDS.
That is so far from the truth it's almost comical when I hear people saying this.
If you want to spend thousands on a PC rig, then that is your choice, but you can spend $800 and get a machine that will run 90% of your games at near maximum levels and also perform many other non gaming functions that consoles can never do.
Don't believe the myth that PC gaming rigs costs thousands.
And in the short term, PC's ARE cheaper than consoles...
When you factor in the same very PC game costs anywhere from $5-$20 less than the console version, that ads up.
I won't even mention the fire sales STEAM is always having where you can buy some AAA games for $10 all the while the same version of that game for the consoles still retail for $59.
DLC is normally free...
Mods are almost always free...and it adds YEARS to that PC game you bought.
If you buy 10 games a year you already saved a bundle not even including free DLC that console owners almost always have to pay for.
Those same 10 games you bought on your console makes the price of that system more than a $800 gaming rig
wow. that whole chart was so incredibly biased and deceptive
I like PC because I can play all the old games I love
