I certainly wasn't expecting this when I logged into Steam today, it appears that Valve has added a massive update to CS:S and honestly it is likely in preparation for CS:GO. Take a look at this laundry list of updates, were they needed or after nearly 7 years, should they of just left well enough alone?

Eight seminal games were released on the gaming market between October 26 and November 23, 2004. Twenty years later, here's Wccftech's retrospective.
You're not gonna include Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal or Jak 3 on that list? Just change it to Fall 2004 Releases and include the masterpiece that is Sly 2.

DSOGaming writes: "Modder ‘gEck0_’ has released a graphics overhaul mod for Counter-Strike: Source, called Counter-Strike: Re-Source (2019). Counter-Strike: Re-Source is basically a compilation of countless textures, models, skins, shaders and more that aims to greatly improve the visuals of this 2004 Counter-Strike game."

We know what most of you will say – it’s not! Some will say it’s trying too hard and some will say it is perfect.
I keep jumping back into this.
The sheer number of player numbers, decades after release of the original CS is astounding. Its always over half a million!
The gunplay is on another level.
I just couldn't get into it. I've tried so many times but I just suck at FPS games haha.
That said I do enjoy watching it pros play it from time to time.
Somewhat disappointing. I couldn't care less about CS:S Valve, what you need to do is update Day of Defeat: Source and bring in the last two factions from the first game!
This is an awesome update. Makes my game better!
Looks like they made unused weapons like Famas and Galil worth-buying. Looks promising, I will definitely give them a try tonight!
good to see they are still keeping an eye out for the community. that's rare by today's standard of releasing a broken game putting out a couple of patches to get it in somewhat working condition and then dropping all support 1-2 months after release.
