Jason D'Aprile writes: When the original Resistance was released alongside the PlayStation 3’s launch, it felt very much like a launch title. It was a good lucking, entertaining shooter, but certainly didn’t scream next-gen power. Full of linear paths, indestructible walls, and wide-open spaces purely used as massive arena battles, it served mostly to provide a pre-requisite sci-fi shooter and show off how many creatures the PS3 could shove on the screen at once.
Insomniac Games' thunderous conclusion to its acclaimed first-person shooter series remains an under-appreciated work of art.
Not a classic in my opinion ; a pretty mediocre PS3 shooter as far as I'm concerned, not bad, not the worst of the trilogy, but certainly not great. Killzone 2 was miles ahead of it (and of most FPSs even today as far as I'm concerned).
I wish they'd bring back the Resistance 2 multiplayer. God that co-op was so much fun.

There are some epic PlayStation Plus Premium shooters, from Naughty Dog's Uncharted series to the high-stakes action of Doom published by Bethesda.

While it's been on ice for as long as it was around, the Resistance franchise has no shortage of quality.
My take:
Single player
3, 2, 1
Multiplayer
3, 1, 2
Overall
3, 2, 1
I beat the lengthy single player in 1 multiple times and spent hours in the online too. Plus 1 featured my home town! Special mention to the audio design in 1: playing that with surround headphones blew me away.
Note: I have the platinum for Resistance 2.
I only played the 3 main Resistance titles. My ranking would be;
1. Resistance 3
2. Resistance: Fall of Man
3. Resistance 2
Man I loved 3's campaign. Another gem stuck on the ps3 and who knows if insomniac will go back to the franchise.
I tell you R3 is so much better than R2 but R1 will always be the best out of the series in my little gamer heart
Resistance 3 is amazing. The single player campaign is incredible. The storyline, graphics, effects, gam eplay and even the weapons are all just wow! Easily the best game on the PS3 and one of the best games this generation of gaming. If you own a PS3, then you need to own Resistance 3.
I personally game this game 3 tries. 1 try per game, and I found out R1 was the only one I could keep going back to. I wanted to love R2 and R3 and just couldn't find it in me to care about them. Just not my cup of tea...
I rented this game and beat it. It was pretty fun for a shooter. Nothing I would play again though. Not fond of the genre in its majority, I suppose.
