Making my way through for the brutal trophy right now! (... actually, taking a say hi to the wife break right now....which in turn is being disrupted by N4G)

GTRrocker5372d ago

I am on the Superhuman play through right now. It isn't that hard actually. No where near as hard as the Dead Space Impossible or Hardcore difficulties. I die a lot but I just need to learn to take cover more.

dc15372d ago

That's good to know.
There were a few spots on normal that took me a few 're-takes' to get through. Just knowing when to be very aggressive and when to lay back and pluck the chimera's off was a big deal for me.

Here's to hoping I can deploy the same strategies.

GTRrocker5372d ago

Just be really defensive. Take cover and try to find the locations of all of the heath packs when in battle. Doing a first play through really helped me out because I knew what to expect. I have also been using the Deadeye, auger, and the marksman. Also be sure to always use the secondary fire for the bullseye. Normally I never do, but it really helped me out of a jam when I need to kill an enemy right before I was about to die.

Thanks for the tips GTRrocker!

A lot of people on gamefaqs are actually looking for superhuman co-op partners, right now.

I'd help you, but I already got my platinum, and my brother wants to play the game now...

Wait.... Can you get the Brutal trophy through co-op?
Google is my friend the answer is yes!

Just saw your comments below ARIJayden! This will make it much more fun (less Brutal) to run through!

banjadude5372d ago (Edited 5372d ago )

Yes sir, you can indeed! Also, you can do the levels in ANY order, since the game auto tracks and updates your progress accordingly!

I'm gearing up to it but i'm not looking forward to one particular bit in NY. I had to trial and error through it.

dc15372d ago

let me guess 'defending against the counter attack'? That gave me grief on normal (at lest 4 tries to hold it down).

Pintheshadows5372d ago

Got it in one. I'm really not looking forward to it. That was tough anyway.

GTRrocker5371d ago

I loved NY. It was tough, but it was so much fun using the auger to scope out those aliens hiding in that building right before breaking through those two Chimera doors to disable the shield to get further into NY. Very fun and I used my weapon wheel a lot to come up with strategies on how I would be victorious.

Insomniac Games Has To Figure Out How to Break the 'Normal' Gameplay Loop in Marvel's Wolverine

Knocked out is still an option. So are being captured or restrained. Then there's potential for fatigue being a factor or just putting limits on how many times you can come back from healing quickly, making it also something you upgrade throughout the game.

Really not a hard thing to gamify, honestly. Just look at the last wolverine game.

StarcrossedBits238d ago

Yeah, this is very silly. Wolverine's not invincible and he can actually die anyway. This isn't the Superman problem. The 360/PS3 game handled it great.

Deadpool is another example. That guy literally can't die because Death won't take him. But they still figured out a way to make a game around him.

jambola238d ago

Probably just have a health bar, only a tiny minority will probably be bothered by "oh but adanced healing" nonsense
Injustice was successful, people didn't cry about superman being beaten by humans

Juancho51238d ago

Ive seen enough to know that whatever they do will focus heavily on insane combos and dismemberments and all kinds of cool shit we wish we'd seen years ago as wolverine fans.

This is in great hands, all open world games get stale, I'm sure this game is going to be GOTY contender because of the talent behind it, but I hope its doesn't fall into any traps that make the world feel empty or underutilized.

LFG tho!! EXCITED.

Of all the things to worry about, this feels like the lowest ebb. I’d perhaps be more concerned about how they can find enough variety in the combat mechanics to stop a 10-12 hour game from becoming a bit samey, even if they get that main combat gameplay loop to be incredibly satisfying.

Obviously Wolverines claws will remain the main combat method, but thinking about how God of War benefited from (and differentiated itself from predecessor’s) by increased verticality in combat and also ranged attack mechanics, I’d be interested to see what Insomniac can come up with.

__SteakDeck__237d ago

Jean Gray will be playable for a portion of the game. That’s how they’re going to spice it up.
