if its done by Starbreeze (makers of the awesome Chronicles of Riddick and the not so awesome but still very good The Darkness) and EA gives them creative freedom then yes

as then it will have RPG and adventure/questing elements in it making it more than your run and gun shooting gallery FPS

The problem isnt the amount of fps , the problem is the amount of military or team based fps .

It's not as if there are enough quake and unreal tournament type of fps , and hybrids .

The only few different fps released this year just sucked or were average , aside from dead island and Portal 2 .

It bums me out. XCOM, Syndicate, and Fallout made excellent games in the isometric perspective.

Ever wonder how many people would be flipping out if the next Diablo was in first-person perspective?

What is the problem with it if it is well done? If it is creative and fun, what difference does the perspective make?

When you stop living life in the first person, let me know. I'd like to me a human being with their eyesight linked to an over the shoulder/above the head view of the world.

i wouldnt mind some thing new! i want a good single player FPS with a huge story kinda like half life (half life 3 would be great) but it's all ways the same old modern warfare type games im tired of shooting at zombies and people...lets shoot big huge bugs kind of like starship troopers or blue gender maybe or dinos! lets see some creativity!! and more focus on single player!!

I generally still like the genre. I will say though that if the games are not AAA rated I will not buy it.

are all the FPS shooters I need as everything else is crap.

Turning a RTS games into FPS is really stupid cause they are just gonna make a dumbed down COD clone and not put the effort into having the features that made games like Syndicate and XCOM very good.

The first person view is very immersive but Most Devs suck and are just making COD clones. Now there are games like Natural Selection 2 and Nuclear Dawn that are PROPER fps/rts games but they are PC Exclusives and honestly I can not see a dev making a proper fps/rts game for the consoles.

so let this be yet another perfect example of good games being DUMBED down for consoles as publishers realize they can make easy money by selling CRAP to consolers.

I think the Fallout conversion to the first person view was ok. But when we are talking about X-Com... Oh boy it sucks.

one thing i like most about fps and tps games is the dialogue and the voice overs in most rpg MOST IMO it sounds like im listening to an anime movie or tv series that i would rather be watching in japanese.

Some games make a great FPS.

Then there are some in which an FPS is just unecessary. It's the safe, easy mode of game making.

Don't like FPS, don't buy it then, sitting around crying about it won't do shit. Blame yourselves for buying CoD every year for the over-saturation.

We get too many generic military shooters and not enough classic skill-based arena shooters like Unreal Tournament and Quake. Still won't stop me from going back and playing the classics, but if you don't like it, just don't buy it.

By the way, how come I can almost never see my feet in first person view? Why do I slide up ladders with no hands?

I want some more third person games. Uncharted 3 is going to be great!

Do we really need another Halo, COD, BF, Crysis, Bioshock series? Do we really need another 3rd person shooter in the likes of Gears, inFAMOUS or a 3rd person action adventure such as Uncharted, Tomb Raider? Or the grand daddy of them all.... Do we really need another Final Fantasy? The people that write and approve these articles are wasting people's time.

X-COM in first person perspective will only work if the strategy part is still there. What will ruin X-COM is its platform. Simply put the majority of console gamers don't like micro-management and complexity. Not to mention the studio making X-COM saying strategy is a dead genre. Perspective is the least of our worries.

But the majority is content with mindless corridor shooters.

I really hope NBA 2k11 is there. Usually they don't make an appearance at E3. Should be interesting. And Mafia 2 is a must to see.

I luckily, for me, I have a physical copy of Spec Ops: The Line. I used to be a very adamant collector and physical only buyer. However, due game discs missing essential data and own usage of subscription services, I have largely halted collecting games.
