Why Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Succeeded and Failed

ComicBookMovie: I rented this game for a weekend a few months ago, (as of September 7th, I now own it) and it was some of the most fun I've ever had. The gameplay is just so wild and fun, that it's just hard to put the controller down. I tell myself that this battle would be the last battle, but I find myself wanting to do another one right after. Indeed, this game is probably the most fun and addictive fighting game I've ever played. But it's not perfect.

Characters are way to different IMO to have a decent story. Street Fighter will benefit from Capcom investing time into it but not really Marvel. However, they should still have added video beginning and endings for each character. The style they used is primitive.

As for the roster,It'll be 48 in ultimate but still MVC2 had sprites stolen from different games. The characters here were all made from scratch. To have more than 52 and make the game balanced would be a lot of work. The game probably won't have been out by now.

As for the characters. Marvel picks who Capcom can use so they choose chracters to make people more aware of them. Everyone knows Venom and Carnage but who knows about Rocket Racoon. Nothing Capcom can do about that.

His tribute to this, which took him over 175 hours, was to combine every single character to ever appear in Capcom’s crossover series in the one enormous image.

Whether it was a colossal successful partnership with Marvel Comics or a collaboration with rivals Namco and SNK, the “Vs.” series brought unforgettable experiences to the fighting genre.
