Characters with Character: Dragon Age's Anders

BT: I had a lot of trouble thinking of an opening for this episode because of the eventual direction the subject matter would go to. It also doesn’t help that a few days from now will be the tenth anniversary of September 11th, something that, as a New Yorker, is a bit close to home.

But that said this is a character that I wanted to write about for some time, and honestly I feel that it’s important it comes out now. We are talking about Anders from the Dragon Age series, the apostate mage that went through a massive transformation from a kind-hearted soul yearning for freedom to political radical taking matters into his own hands.

Why's the thumbnail a picture of Alistair?

Bolts5366d ago

The Anders in DA 2 sucks, just like almost everything else in DA2.

Kee5366d ago

He's fucking crazy, that's what he is. Why anders, WHY!!!!???

Dragon Age Lead Says Including World State Reactivity Felt Like It Was "Irrelevant Or Not Enough"

If the choices won't matter, why bother? Bioware works so hard at giving meaningful choices but rarely if ever carrying out the impact of such choices to the end.

EA Made Dragon Age and Mass Effect DLC Free On PC By Retiring The BioWare Points System

Immersed Gamer writes: "In order to replace the oppressive BioWare Points system, EA is making a large portion of the Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC catalogs free for PC users.

For those of you blissfully unaware, EA and BioWare employed a payment system called BioWare Points on PC to pay for DLCs for titles like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. While PC gamers have been struggling with BioWare point’s unfair conversion rates and extremely scarce and cost-detrimental sales.

Console players have been allowed to purchase content in pieces through the appropriate Sony and Microsoft shops. For real money, and not BioWare monopoly bucks. In turn, console players missed out on some DLC content, such as Mass Effect 2 pre-order bonuses that have been repackaged into a DLC pack."

Great response to Ubisoft and their disgusting behavior. Ubisoft decide to take away DLC from people who paid for it, while EA give it for free to everyone when they realize their system sucks. Who would have thought that EA of all companies would be showing Ubisoft how it should be done (even if this is EA fixing their own mistakes as well).

Mobis-New-Nest1404d ago

What goes around comes around and I promise you, Ubisoft will see their actions blow back on them when their diminishing sales numbers and stock taking a hit downward. That's the only way a company learns when they decide to be reactive instead of proactive.

10 Expansions That Are Better Than The Main Game

NoobFeed Editor Joshua Burt writes - It is now a mainstay of gaming that post a title's release, and DLC will accompany the game. Some of the most popular games of the last fifteen years have followed this practice. But there are some DLCs that are better than others. That stands on the shoulders of their base game, and in some cases… Surpass it. These are the 10 expansions that were better than the main game.

Damn, I feel stupid when years ago I played all the dlc for fallout 3 except the pitt. My younger ass looked at it and thought it was boring without trying I believe... Well good reason to fire up the old dusty ps3!

PhillyDillyDee1430d ago

Bethesda usually does great DLC. Makes sense they are on the list 3 times.

Solid list, I'd add inFamous: Festival of Blood, although it was a standalone download, it still felt like an inFamous 2 expansion.

Blood and Wine might be the best ever though.

SullysCigar1430d ago

I'd also add in Horizon The Frozen Wilds. As I started it, I wasn't sure I had the energy, but my God that was awesome. Some of the best weapons, enemies and missions in Horizon for sure.

Blood and Wine is always the reason these "best DLC of all time" list gets made in the first place nowadays.
Don't think CDPR can come any where near with any upcoming CP2077 DLC.

I have beaten Bloodborne but though i have the DLC I never played through it. For now I want to wait and see if it gets a Bluepoint remake.

anast1430d ago

It's the best DLC in the genre. You are missing out.

SarwarRon1430d ago

I double that. If you've liked Bloodborne, don't miss out The Old Hunters.

I skipped on Demons Souls remake, but Bloodborne would be day one. I love the game, but it is very, very jaggy and really needs a 60fps edition.

anast1430d ago

I didn't like Blood and Wine too much, but the grandmaster gear is worth it.
