Neocrisis: We had the pleasure of getting a interview with Dr. Christian Wawrzine, the COO, of Goodgame Studios.

Online games company Goodgame Studios has revealed that it will be laying off 200 employees in order to focus on its core business.

NoobFeed writes: "Developer Goodgame Studios has announced a sizable milestone in its company. It’s now officially employing a thousand people, spread across its various locations."

It’s not hard to find games that follow the multiplayer city/empire-building formula – offensive and defensive battles, recruiting soldiers and building resource farms, waiting for cool downs and timers. Shadow Kings: Dark Ages, a multiplayer town builder by Goodgame Studios, highly resembles other familiar games that share this formula. It took a few hours of gameplay before I realized that it wasn’t simply a copy-and-paste from other games of the same genre, however. There are some things that Shadow Kings does that I haven’t seen before, only I wish they would have capitalized on these differences to make them more meaningful.
