Gamasutra: "Insomniac lead writer Jon Paquette here discusses the process he used at the studio to bring forth the best from Resistance 3. New to the series, he worked on absorbing the canon before charging forward with a mission for the developers.
In this interview, he discusses how he collaborates with the art and design teams at Insomniac, how much story is too much for a shooter, and the way in which he integrates subtler moments into a game where players are more worried about "trying to find the next head shot."
Insomniac Games' thunderous conclusion to its acclaimed first-person shooter series remains an under-appreciated work of art.
Not a classic in my opinion ; a pretty mediocre PS3 shooter as far as I'm concerned, not bad, not the worst of the trilogy, but certainly not great. Killzone 2 was miles ahead of it (and of most FPSs even today as far as I'm concerned).
I wish they'd bring back the Resistance 2 multiplayer. God that co-op was so much fun.

The game's narrative director Jon Paquette explained whether Insomniac Games is planning a Venom spin-off after "Marvel's Spider-Man 2."
I'd def be down for that. Maybe its you causing havoc and occasionally running into the webcrawler, but otherwise you meet up with some of the sinster six and just go from there.
A Venom game would be cool, but I'd prefer if we get away from Spiderman for a bit. Maybe reboot Infamous or Sunset Overdrive.

There are some epic PlayStation Plus Premium shooters, from Naughty Dog's Uncharted series to the high-stakes action of Doom published by Bethesda.
The game looks really amazing, getting it tom.
im workin still broke but yet im goin 2 get this 2moro lol.... talk bout messed up priorities..
Hujah midnight launches! :-)Can't wait!
"Because a game is not consumed the same way as a movie. A movie, you sit down and you say, "I'm going to watch this from beginning to end." A game you sit down and you play 30 minutes, or five minutes, or whatever, and then you're like, "Okay, I've got to do the laundry. I've got to take my dog for a walk" -- whatever -- and you lose it."
This is such bullshit. Metal Gear Solid 4 has more story than a lot of movies and it is a success. You want to play it over again. This mentality is why most games have a shitty story. I want depth in my games. Who cares if you have to do your fucking laundry. Pay attention and learn to remember important plot points. This was my problem with Resistance 2 and a lot of games this generation. There wasn't enough story. The game was great, but they didn't get into the Chimera as much as I wanted to. GG did this in Killzone with the Helghast, but Insomniac didn't with Resistance.
I am picking up Resistance 3.
i had the game since this weekend and honestly resistance 3 is just epic and online is just one of the best IMO till the big dogs are released lol.
