Top 10 Worst Video Game Spinoffs

As long as there are popular video game series, there will be video game spinoffs. While some of these end up being great, like Portal or the Mario Kart games, it's much more common for them to fall completely flat. We've played some pretty bad spinoffs over the years, and here are the worst of them.

wierd Halo Wars is the highest rated RTS on consoles last time i saw...82% metacritic is a great score, good rts game and alot of Halo fans enjoyed it.

I remember playing Halo:wars demo and thought it was pretty good, even though im neither an RTS nor a halo fan.

Swiggins5396d ago

Halo Wars was the only one on this list I wouldn't agree with.

Don't get me wrong, it's not even within spunking distance of good RTS's. But for a Console RTS, I'd rank it actually pretty high.

It's controls though hampered by...well...the controller did work and they did allow for a certain degree of strategy.

I wouldn't play it over Starcraft or Command and Conquer, but it worked ok.

i am being serious. i heard it was bad.

"heard" is the key here, you shouldn't believe everything you hear.....halo wars was/is great, esp for a console rts, doesn't belong on that list.....they could however toss mk sub zero mythologies in its spot though, shoalin monks was sweet though

i thought Shadow the Hedgehog was good. have anyone played Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon? to me Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon will be a good game to rage quit to. lol :D

RockmanII75396d ago

I never played them, but weren't the Dead Space and Dead Rising games for the Wii really bad?

Swiggins5396d ago

Hello Fellow Brony

Chop till you Drop wasn't so much a spin off as an adaptation to the Wii of the first game, wasn't good, but wasn't bad.

Extraction was pretty damn horrible though, as a Rail Shooter it didn't even hold my attention, it bored me.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing39d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit39d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing39d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9239d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
