then I will be totally ashamed of being a SONY fan. How the fvck could have SONY declared that blu-ray had won the format wars months ago (getting my hopes up), when in actual reality, it's TOSHIBA and the HD DVD discs that are proving to be the more popular choice with consumers?

What's even more thought provoking though, is, if SONY ends up losing this war, how the hell are they going to survive? The battle between the Wii and 360 seems pretty much futile, so how are they gonna make any money?

Whoc cares they are just DESPERATELY SPINING. Blu Ray already makes up 98% of Japanese HD format. Around 77% of the European format(I think maybe eve a little more) and did you guys see the Blu Ray sales figures for United States this week? Yeah they had 9 of the 10 in the top ten. Blu Ray is winning where it counts. Go Blu Ray.

HD DVD is so done, its so funyn to watch a format fall apart at the seams, its great i love it, they are trying everythign t make themselves look good, and blu ray is just sittign there watching in glee.

First off they slate Ps3 off and state that it is not a blu-ray player. Then they class the Ps3 as a blu-ray player when it benefits them.

The one thing those figures don't say. Is that there is still 4 times as many blu-ray disks sold as HD DVD. Try putting Spin on that one

BR are still outselling them 9:1 in some regions - so what gives? There best sales is halve of BR - with signs of falling behind further... even with exclusive deals.

But hey - it is a "better value proposition" - which is based on one item in the equation - price of the lowest level player that can not even output in 1080p. Pathetic.
