NowGamer: Game director Jean-Francois Dugas admits Deus Ex: Human Revolution AI 'is not perfect.'

Jason Dietz: "We reveal the past year's best and worst video game publishers (based on their 2025 releases) in the 16th edition of our annual Game Publisher Rankings."
But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Square Enix announced its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year, related to the period between April and December 2025.

3D Investment Partners, a major shareholder of Square Enix, issued a 112-page presentation criticizing the company's 'sluggish' revenue and profit margins.
Waaah waaah our profits aren't big enough! I mean, they're still growing and all, but we want it faster and NOW! Waaaah!
A.I has been the MOST neglected 'feature' in game development history, most likely because it is the hardest thing to do R&D for.
It hasn't been a gradual improvement either. I reckon we will have a watershed moment where we finally get a breakthrough regarding A.I.
I think the draconian nature of A.I will be glaringly obvious IF in the next-gen we haven't made reasonable strides regarding it. Imagine having amazing photo realistic visuals with excellent physics but relatively archaic NPCs following set parameters that don't extend beyond the 'spotted enemy, shoot enemy, occasionally take cover' mechanic.
A.I also breaks the illusion in games such as Deus Ex and Mass Effect. Imagine a game like Mass Effect where you have crowds of NPCs having dynamic conversations and reacting to your actions dynamically too. Only when this happens (along with the requisite audiovisual/physical advancements)can we say that we have reached achieved the 'zen' of next-gen gaming.
There is a lot not perfect about Deus Ex, after 7 hours with my preorder today I can say that for me this will probably be the most overrated game of the year.
A.I is the toughest part to program. Gamers have no idea how difficult it is usually, so they wine a lot about A.I.
