Razer: PC Gaming is not Dead Site Launched, But What Does it Mean?

Ironhammers: Razer have launched a website entitled ‘PC GAMING IS NOT DEAD'(and yes, they used all cap’s). The site contains a rather cryptic video that reaffirms to us that with over 300,000,000 PC gamers around the world, PC gaming certainly is not dead. Something we’ve been arguing for here at Ironhammers since we launched.

Hail high-end, mid-range, low-end or all pc gaming?

SilentNegotiator5262d ago (Edited 5262d ago )

Razer wants you to hail to low-end PC gaming so that you'll buy their upcoming gaming netbook.

Razer is simply playing on an annoying old debate to get a certain audience to like them. Now the question is whether or not their "All hail PC gaming/Console gamers suck!" campaign will make their gaming netbook profitable. Personally, I don't think so; they're catering to the console-hating fanatics that probably don't care that they're releasing a 600p netbook that's just powerful enough to run WoW.

the floodgates to next-gen have been breached, the consoles have died of exhaustion and pc gaming charges forward.

I'm sorry, was PC-gaming ever dying/dead?

wwm0nkey5262d ago

You would be shocked about how many people made that claim in the past.

gravemaker5262d ago

PC gaming very much alive, kicking and now better than ever

Pikajew5262d ago

PC gaming will never die. As long as you have games it wont die

Shackdaddy8365262d ago (Edited 5262d ago )

I would bet money that it has something to do with the switchblade...

Ayepecks5262d ago

Yeah, I think that's the likely assumption. This would be a pretty big campaign for a mouse or some other peripheral.

ironhammers5262d ago

The linked article on Neowin says that Razer "compared the announcement to Razer's reveal of the Switchblade console", so we could well be in for something else! :D

I hope they decide not to use the atom processor though. That thing is a POS...

Razer Reveals AI Enhanced Products At CES

Razer has revealed a new line of AI enhanced products at CES.

It will be interesting to see how that AVA compares to the Dipal, both look like fun products.

I want an actual robot companion though, I know I'm gonna get some flack for saying so but i hope robots get as advanced as LLMs in their abilities over the next few years, that would be pretty damn amazing.

I'm already eyeing a Jenny Wakeman replica home robot... Well someone had to say it.

Seraphim10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

for the small price of 1 million dollars you too can own your own sentient AI robot.

ZycoFox9d ago

They might come in cheaper than expected with good competition in the space, from China etc. Similar to how we have good Android phones at reasonable prices. They'll probably be fairly pricey though at first, guessing in the region of 20-30k, but who knows maybe pricing will come down fairly quickly.
