VGW: With the launch of the third Deus Ex title, Human Revolution, younger gamers – or those who don’t play PC franchises – might be wondering what all the fuss is about. Gamers who have a history with the series tend to speak of the previous games, particularly the first, with hushed reverence, and have our fingers crossed to the point of cramp that lightning will strike again with the new prequel. If you’re one of the ones wondering why anyone should care about Deus Ex eight years after the last official release, let’s take a look back at what makes it so special.

Nightdive would "love to remaster" Deus Ex, among a few other games. How can we make this happen.

Hanzala from eXputer says, "After multiple delays, cancellations, and ownership changes, the misfortune of Deus Ex continues; this gem of a series deserves better."
One can only hope at this point Embracer will need to generate an influx of cash flow, and what better way to do so than to sell off some of its IPs... namely Deus Ex, to a competent and talented studio capable of delivering a game noteworthy of the name in future. And thinking about it further, I don't know why Embracer would sit on the IP vs sell it if it means staying in business or not.

Some games endure despite the average player wishing they could skip that first hour - here are five annoying video game openings in otherwise classic titles.
I liked the Red Dead 2 opening, certainly didn’t feel like a slog to me, but I enjoyed that whole game so for those who were just expecting ‘GTA but with cowboys’, that was probably not the opening they expected, and Red Dead 2 wasn’t the game they were hoping for …
First game that came to mind when I read the title, was Watch Dogs 2, because you’re expecting an open world sandbox game in sunny colorful San Francisco, and instead that opening has you crawling and sneaking around an incredibly boring office building …
Well done article.
I just beat Deus Ex the other day. Took 30 hours and I didn't even 100% it. Glad to heat DX:HR will have a similar length.
"Before the Revolution: A look back at Deus Ex"
But... Deus Ex Human Revolution is set before all of the deus ex's so you cant go before it with a Deus Ex game :D
said the smart ass called Kran ;)
Damn!!! I HAVE to reinstall it now... (here we go again)
Nice article. Deus Ex was one of the first games I played that was like it. After it, I was hard pressed to find a game that held my interest. But then I discovered System Shock II and The Thief series. We need more games like that in todays market. FPS core, but RPG/Stealth outerlayer. Tuesday can't come quick enough.
arggghh won't have time before release xD , oh well ill visit it after DE : HR as a follow up of sorts , not bothered about the graphics and i hear theirs some mods to beef it up any whoo :D
