Alan Wake is not astounding graphically, it has ps2 like animations, ps2 like textures and so on, only good thing there is fog and light, but thats cant cover all bad things

Gears of War 3 and Forza 4 are going to prove that the 360 is more than capable of producing visually amazing titles.

It's a given at this stage that Sony's 1st party titles will look spectacular.

However, if Microsoft had more studios, they could work solely on pushing the innards of the console to the limit.

The 360 isn't inferior, it just doesn't have the 1st party resources that Sony pours in.

It's an unfortunate situation given the massive profits that titles like Halo pour into the division. Come on Microsoft, start acquiring!

Alan Wake definitely. Had Remedy gotten the game to 720p and still manage to keep the post processing effects, Alan Wake would be one of the best looking games on CONSOLES, not just 360.

Xbox 360 = Gears is a Texture Beast
PS3 = UC2 by far the cleanest of them all

Halo:Reach visually impressive? LMFAO!! Yeah, on the Nintendo Wii. I've seen and played Reach on an HD TV with an HDMI cable. It looks good, but no way is it visually impressive. Resistance:Fall Of Man, a PS3 launch title, looks better than Reach LOL. The only good looking game on the Xbox 360 is Gears Of War 3 and it han't even came out yet!

ps3 uber powerful machine ? LOL even a 2006 high end pc with a core 2 duo and a single gpu is between 5-7 times more powerful than ps3. ps3 cannot even match bulletstorm on pc or even crysis 1 running at a measly medium settings 8xAA 16xAF @1080p which can run on 2006 hardware 60fps with ease. what does that tell you ? ps3 ain't sh*t and never was all those claims by sony where just marketing B.S.

ps3 uber powerful machine that cannot emulate ps2 in software a feet that my Pentium 4(not even my first gen core 2 duo 2006 pc) can reach ? thats the reason the only ps3s will ps2 backwards compatibility are the older models that have the ps2 emotion engine(so ran ps2 games using ps2 hardware and not emulation) in-built which was later removed to save costs. so my p4 can do something the "uber powerful" ps3 cannot ? lol no surprise here I am a computer engineer anyway so I'm aware of the cells many weaknesses that prevents ps2 emulation form being possible but most people on here are ignorant and believe that the cell is the most powerful cpu on earth when a core 2 duo would blow it out of the water.

ps3 was never future proof because it was technologically obsolete even before it launched in 200, LOL

at least the ps3 has exclusives and blu ray playback which makes it more useful to me most of the time than 360 but its not more powerful than 360 in every way, the gap between both consoles isn't as big as you like to believe look at forza 4, gears 3,crysis 2 and witcher 2 and you'll realise that its the truth. MS just doesn't have the first party studio talent to push their machine(to busy pushing the almost entirely useless KINECT) which is THEIR fault.

I still respect nintendo for being honest, that's the only reason I will buy wii u to support them. they never make ridiculous claims about their consoles capabilities like sony did when they said ps3 would render 4 dimensional graphics and all games at 120fps(120hz) amongst other things like proclaiming ps3 a super computer when its not. super computers are a combination of thousands of processors cpu and gpu usually used for research and rendering cgi like toy story and avatar.

HMM only one of them three that has ok graphics was FM3 the other two really are not graphically Astounding at all. There are much better Xbox titles that are way more graphically Astounding that gears of war or Halo reach which I found to be a let down in the graphics department. Why is is with the 360 being HD capable are these games not HD?

I no longer own a PS3 and I will admit that absolutely no Xbox360 game comes close to the incredibly detailed ,crisp clean and brilliantly colored graphics as either Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2 or even God of War 3 on PS3.

Its all about gameplay for this old school gamer. I would rather play limbo anyday over looking at the nice graphics but terrible gameplay of some the current gen graphic powerhouses.

I think Gears of War 3 and Forza 4 are definitely going to be the best-looking exclusives when they're released.

Given that Halo 4 uses an upgraded version of the Reach engine, I'm sure it'll look pretty good, too. But the Halo games this generation haven't been up to the standards of stuff like Gears, Killzone, Uncharted or Crysis.

Actually the XBLA games Class 3 and Class 4 are looking really nice.

The "astounding" bit is that Xbox 2 have games which are still exclusive :P

I'd put Alan Wake , Gears 3 and Forza 4 as exclusives with genuinely excellent graphics.

Lets not forget older games , like DOAX2 - say what you want about the gameplay , but that game had gorgeous graphics.

Is it wrong of me to say Perfect Dark Zero? The opening visuals still look pretty good. And I like the colourful shininess of it all. And the fact that it's like playing a corny 1980s arcade game. And the fact that it's not trying to be photorealistic throughout. If it was then it was a massive failure. It's not a patch on Bioshock of course but at least it's not trying to be. There's bad storyline to Perfect Dark Zero but no pretensions.

The game was in 720p and the visuals were just breathtaking.

just got a brand new LG 42 inch led 1080p tv and its looks amazing

halo reach looks way better all the sparten model in multiplayer look sick and detailed

red dead redemption also looks amazing the plants and sky dirt look very clear

The original Dead Rising was spectacular when it first launched for me. Going from PS2 to that was cool.

@Towelie yeah I have Red Dead on both PS3 and 360 and for me the colours from the 360 version are amazing.
