lol...
but they said if people are leveling each other up its ok...SO players can boost as long as it doesnt interfere with live games...WTF, boosting is cheating isnt it? since you try to get points and stats.

On another note, I hope this is true because MW2 got a little insane with boosters, black ops really did address this, but in some cases they took it a little too far. I know a few people who are insanely good and they had some insane stats and poitns but black ops dropped them two levels backwards...lol
But if they balance it correctly then its ok. For the most part black ops hasnt had many boosters/cheaters

DeFFeR5396d ago

"You know, some people just want to level each other up and you know what? People can do that. It's kinda lame. But as long as you're not interfering with something, we don't want to go crazy about it. But with competitions, we want people to feel that competition is fair."

That's terrible. See - the thing with boosting in games where there are no "game changing" unlocks - fine, whatever, be a boosting retard. But here, some of the weapons unlocked are far superior to their earlier counterparts (at least that's how it was in all previous MP CoD games...) which WILL create an unbalance when idiots are whoring the top guns four days after the game releases.

They're only policing Elite??? I bet they'll plant cheaters in non Elite games just to encourage us to spend money on their useless program...

BX815396d ago

Stop crying. Elite covers every game. Plus it gives you the option to do clan crap and other competitions. Just becasue you don't pay for elite doesn't mean the guy in the same room as you that does, wont get his stats and stuff. Thats how they track everything. Through elite. Just because you choose not to pay for it doesn't mean your intell isn't being tracked. Also if you plan on getting the map packs for MW3 it's probably worth it or if you're not getting MW3 then just say that instead of trying to attack something.

Genghis5396d ago

why would they police non-elite players? what a waste of resources. also, please read the article: "When we run competitions, we can make it fairer."

Policing will only apply to competitions. So naturally, THOSE will be policed. I'm sure they could care less for non-competitive matches. Just like they care less now...

It's as plain as day. Get your head out of your ass...

BX815395d ago

@Genghis No where in the article did it say they only take this type of data from the players in competion. If they did then I clearly missed it. "I'm sure they could care less for non-competitive matches". Here is the problem, "I'm sure", not 100% positive. The problem with people like you is you think just because you think it, it's fact. It's clearly your opionion because you have no facts to back it up. Unless they come out and say only elite players will play with elite players on different servers from everyone else I can't see your point. If I kill you 100 times in a TDM game and you kill me 0 times (highly likely scinerio)and you have elite and I don't guess what. They tracked that I waxed you 100 times.

PS. Why do I have my head up my ass? What is soooo interesting up there? What do you see in your ass?

Genghis5395d ago

Hey idiot, I put the quote right there:

"When we run competitions, we can make it fairer."

Please use your basic reading comprehension skills and realize that this means they have no obligation to police non-competitive matches.

Why would they need to? Think back to the old battlenet days. The non-blizzard server matches were filled w/ hackers and cheaters. And blizzard didn't give a shit. Elite is exactly the same thing. Let the non-subscription matches go to shit to encourage people to PAY for a subscription.

The quote is right there. "WHEN WE RUN COMPETITIONS..."

Meaning: "WHEN WE DON'T RUN COMPETITIONS, we could care less..."

I feel like I'm talking to a retarded person.

BX815394d ago

Ok so what you're saying is they use it to make the competitions fairer. Outstanding now that we both agree on that, show me where they said they only stat track elite players and are not going to police up non elite players. I can understand why you seem so upset. You're not understanding what's going on. I feel sorry for you if this is how you react to everyone if they disagree with you. Pro tip take a breather, put your big boy pants on and converse in a mature manner. LMAO, kids!

Planting cheaters? Come on, dude... Paranoid...

Feckles5396d ago

Electrodes to the testicles, right?

sickpup5396d ago

100 headshots in 1 hour is not that far fetched. Now 100 headshots in 30 minutes, that's just craziness!

spenn20105396d ago

All he mentioned was the boosting issue that really doesn't affect other players outside those private lobbies. What about wall hacking, aimbots, and other man made exploits that appear to this day in MW2 lobby matches? Activision is fucking joke and so is the COD community and games.

Modern Warfare 3 flooded with cheaters after arrival on Xbox Game Pass

Players are using hacks to gain an advantage in the game, such as aimbots and wall hacks. The first gives a player superhuman aiming abilities, while a wall hack lets you see through walls to gauge where other players are.

“These hacks are typically used by PC players, but those playing on PC via Xbox Game Pass are identified as Xbox players in multiplayer lobbies.”

This is pretty dumb to say the least.

Cacabunga665d ago

All about them headshots for Xbox

badz149666d ago

Gotta pump those numbers up

blackblades665d ago

That's a WTF, they suppose to be labeled as pc users even if its on PC game pass. They mess that up big time.

XiNatsuDragnel666d ago

Oh bad this will be entertaining to watch

ZycoFox665d ago

If AI keeps getting better (and it will) it's just a matter of time before there's more sophisticated cheats even for consoles, and they wouldn't even need to be running on it, I have little doubt about that.

lelo2play666d ago

Don't Gamepass online games have anti-cheat systems?
If not, that's pretty dumb. Microsoft need to fix that asap.

Rynxie666d ago (Edited 666d ago )

They won't ever fix this problem, unless they (developers, publishers, Sony and MS) go after the cheat providers directly. You no longer need to hack consoles to use hacks. During the ps360 days, they were going after cheat devices, but it was a cat and mouse game. These cheating methods were around during those days, it's nothing new, but they kept it under control. Since the PS4/Xbox one generation, they stopped going after these cheating devices and it became widespread. Which I find odd, since they started charging for online play (PS4).

StormSnooper665d ago (Edited 665d ago )

Possibly, this is because the companies were going after cheats because the same cheats were being used to pirate the games, whereas today, the companies use online verification to prevent piracy, thus eliminating the need to go after people who cheat only to gain an advantage in the game. As long as the cheater remains below the radar, and does not completely break the game, the companies look the other way as their wallets are not threatened by it. (that is my completely Uneducated opinion on the matter)

pwnmaster3000666d ago

I mean, COD games was always filled with hackers, nothing new. I can’t blame MS on this. Activision had years to try and fix this. Might take MS some time to make some change.

Rude-ro665d ago

It all depends…
Microsoft’s guidance on how to handle gamepass on pc and their love to force crossplay with pc seems like a them issue.
And they own activision, so it is still a them issue.

StormSnooper665d ago

lol well that sucks.

Is there a reason this happened upon arrival on xbox?
