Witcher Devs: Team Too Small For PS3 Witcher 2

Marek Ciemak, at Witcher 2 developer CDProjekt, has told NowGamer that a PS3 version of Witcher 2 is not a priority right now.

The highly regarded PC RPG The Witcher 2 was confirmed for Xbox 360 a couple of months ago.

if there were easier dev tools than all ps3 multiplatforms would not have graphical difficulties

I know im going to get some heat for this, but weather this game comes to ps3 or not makes no difference to me. As far as RPGs go, this game is doing nothing new other than advertising in playboy and making drawn out R rated sex scenes. Its just relying too much on sex and not on innovating. With Skyrim coming out, I think this game will soon become very forgetable.

Im not one of those fanboys that dismisses games because they are not on ps3 either. I would be very happy if actual good exclusives like Gears came to the ps3. This game just does not interest me in anyway and seems very overrated in the PC community that usually has much higher standards in their games.

@Slayer, have you actually played the game though? It's a fantastic RPG, very much fit for the PC arena. It's a mature game that juggles the concept of sex and violence within the genre very well.

Skyrim will well be a great game, but you shouldn't dismiss The Witcher 2 over trivial issues, because they don't impact on the game at large. It's still ambitious and interesting.

@Slayer : you win the fanboy of the month competition ... oh, and treat yourself to a dictionary, whether not weather.

It really is a great RPG, great writing, interesting characters, a gritty fantasy world, stunning graphics and best of all shades of grey morality which isn't just good or evil. Sex scenes are optional except for 1 and is part of the character which is from a series of novels, it's not really a major factor in the game no more than Dragon Age or Mass Effect anyway.

It really doesn't sound like you have played it. And I'm not surprised, considering your comment.

The Witcher 2 is one of the best games I have played all year, and one of my favorite RPGs of all time.

It's a pretty good game. The one complaint I have is that the end felt rushed and it's only 3 chapters+prologue. But the first two chapters are long.

after reading ur comment. i want to play it now.

PC architecture = Xbox 360 win.

It's because they're not good enough to understand the complex structure of a PS3. Which is fair, since they're a only small company.

PS3 doesn't have a complex structure, it has shit dev tools.

skyward5410d ago

Why not farm out a port to a third-party PS3 specialist and keep an eye on it to ensure quality? Would do well on PS3 I'm sure. OR have they signed with MS as exclusive?

Voxelman5410d ago

They tried that with the first game and look how that turned out...

The actor who portrayed Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher series of games has died

Alexander Morton, the Scottish actor probably best known for starring in British comedy drama Monarch of the Glen - but known to me for being the hilariously foul-mouthed dwarf Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 - has died aged 81.
