For those of you who may have not known, DotA (as we now call it) is just a short for Defense of the Ancients. It’s a custom multiplayer map for Blizzard’s Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, which is arguably more popular than Valve’s Counter strike 1.6. As opposed to Counter Strike, DotA is a real-time strategy game which requires excellently co-ordinated teamwork, being the only gateway to victory.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
A very simplistic guide, but good nevertheless!
What people need to understand with these games, is that there will always be a bad community!
The game is a team game and you are ultimately dependant on your teammates. Even if you get incredibly strong with your own hero, if your teammates are terrible, you risk losing.
If you get flamed in this game, which will happen without a doubt. I have taken my fair share of rage with 2 years of DotA experience and 2 years of playing HoN and i've given my fair share of rage to my teammates. It's incredibly competitive, forget CS, Quake Live and all other major competitive games, Dota is bigger - perhaps just challenged by SC2.
There will be mute/ignore features and if someone gets too harsh, simply use this and play on. People will be idiots, in every game. When you play to win, things get heated and you will say things you regret after the game. No matter how bad someone is, he/she does not deserve some of the flame you spew out. Keeping your head cool is still the best thing, even when things doesn't go your way.
If you played Heroes of Newerth, you will know how much of a ragefest a game can be, but honestly - playing Football for 13 years, i've said ugly things aswell on the Football field, so rage isn't only limited to the battlefield of gaming!
If you wish to get in early, either pick up HoN(Free-to-Play now) and get the "game-feel" in your fingertips. Or install Warcraft III:The Frozen Throne and download the newest dota map from www.getdota.com. Beware though, Battle.net has no leaver protection, but you will still get to recognize with the heroes of DOTA2 in each of the games mentioned.
Cya all in DOTA2, let's make this game the biggest yet!
